If our manager is Darren Moore and Oli Shaw is starting every week I wouldn’t be confident of our chances of top six never mind winning the league. I really don’t get the how the general concensus is that Darren Moore is the answer if Duff does leave. We outplayed, out fought and out thought his side three times last season and he got a spawny last second win in a game where absolutely everything went in his favour - be that refereeing decisions, one of our best players missing an absolute sitter, or even that our substitute got injured and had to be replaced by Jon Russell, who couldn’t track a tank never mind a runner - having comprehensively lost the other two games in the regular season. His team’s form tailed off so badly towards the end of the season when he had one or two injuries - so bad in fact that he could barely get a result against some of the real dross of the division. Darren Moore comes across as a really great bloke and he’d represent our club with class when interviews and so on. But he’s really not the right person to manage the club.
I’m judging it purely on the fact he hasn’t had a sniff and is therefore a worse option than all the other four we had, in Duff’s eyes. I trust his judgement
I think Moore would divide fans with the Wednesday connection. And many are basing his football on 3 games against us. He got Wednesday a record points total and a record unbeaten run then form dipped after 2 key players been injured one didn't play again all season. He's done well everywhere he has managed. Not too bothered who replaces duff give it devaney for me but we could do alot worse than Moore.
