    having come to cricket later in life! I have a question.

    Bowling which is aimed at making it difficult for he batsman to score is unlikely to get the batsman stumped or out with lbw?
    is that an accurate statement ?

    I honestly can’t understand why they brought him back from ‘retirement’ tbh, he was only an average test spinner before when he was playing regularly.
    With him and Stokes who doesn’t seem to trust his fitness to ball it’s really restricting our attack

    It’s all about frustrating them into doing something rash and getting themselves out, they could come down the wicket and get stumped but any option is still there

    yes, Australia too have a choice - either bat it out until the end and go for a draw or take chances and go for a win - looks as if they've opted for the former ??

    Aussies need 72 to win.

    I now don't think there will be 28 overs of play. In 8 overs time England get a nice shiny new ball to bowl at Aussies tail end with Jimmy and Broad to face.

    Stokes is a brilliant captain …. he doesn’t bowl all day and then comes on and takes a wicket with a 70 mph ball.
    Also he did not take the new ball so Root took a wicket.
