Biggest concern for me is were missing out on transfers..if Duff's gone he's not going to be looking for our next striker or centre half and anybody interested in us will want to arrive with some dosh for players not to find it's spent by someone who's left...my message to Mr Duff would be thanks now bu**er off and lets get back to the business of running OUR club on behalf of OUR fans..time's ticking.
I’d hope players were identified some time ago and a case of working through them, exceptions of course to any that come up unexpectedly but I’d hope that to be rare.
If that turns out to be the case then there is a culture behind the scenes that clearly doesn’t endear staff to stay for whatever reason. That is what we need to also tackle as the head coach model was meant to lessen this impact but now doesn’t seem to make any difference (of course subject to whatever ends up transpiring)
No but I’m sure he’s part of the trying to attract them to the club when meeting him as part of the negotiations part of recruitment.
Definitely has some say in it. Can't just be a coincidence that Phillips and Bobby Thomas signed from Burnley last season when we had Duff. Both managed by Duff before in U23s there.
What on earth was there in Poya, that made us go for him a second time. If Duff goes then yeah I'm going to be really disappointed, but like when Val did it as well, I can't blame him. And if we'd won that Final and were a Championship club again right now, then there would be more clubs than just Swansea showing an interest.
Not sure we are missing out on any transfer targets, we still have a strong squad with none of our own players having gone yet & we have already brought a centre back to the club , players & agents still on holiday ,but I do not see a big turn over here this summer unlike previous seasons , yes there will be loan signings coming in but they do not usually happen until premier league clubs have named their squads .
Disco is bound to be one of them. Maybe Vicki. I wouldn't be surprised if Isted and Bobby Thomas ended up there, and he came back for Mads, Luca, and Phillips. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we aren't ransacked like Val did to us.
Khaled said in the interview it was because of how quick his teams got into the pressing phase and his preference of using/developing younger players. He also said he thought Poya did a decent job for us considering but decided it was best for all to have a clean slate.
Sarnds abart reight for Barnsley, the club that give things away for peanuts, Clubs like Barnsley, and all we do is defend em.
I think it is obvious that some of his staff will go with him but I expect Disco to stay & throw his hat in the ring for the job , regarding Isted & Thomas then they are not part of our club , Isted will have plenty of offers & I believe Thomas is still under contract at Burnley therefore what happens with him is nothing to do with us , I agree he might be interested in trying to sign Connell but I doubt Philips will be courted by any championship club & Anderson has been linked with the premier league so I do not think a mid table championship club will wet his appetite .
If last season had have been abysmal we would have been grumbling if it was to pay him off. Hindsight is a great thing.
Same as been said by others, if he doesn't go now the damage has already been done. I'd rather he left now.
guess he's waiting for another 83 posts then he'll have got 1000 (repetitive repetitive posts) - is this a record? - and then he'll respond!
