Being the pathetic individual I am, I must admit I haven't the foggiest who we should go for. I'm not confident enough to insist I know best who we should appoint. Others more knowledgeable than me have suggested Mark Bonner at Cambridge & Jon Brady at Northampton, which would similarly reflect on what this board did last year.
Whilst we were scouting Duff and throwing suggestions around, I was hopeful of Michael Carrick. He's made a good fist of his first appointment without acting like he had a God-given right to jump straight into a Prem role (like some). I can't think that there is anyone similar this time around - big name looking for a kick-start.
If you're being semi serious mate, id wipe Emma Hayes off your list. When she was linked with clubs before in our division she's already said she finds that an insult, why would she leave Chelsea to manage a league one side.
She wouldnt maybe semi serious was the wrong term - I dont think we have any chance of Wilder either but it is more likely than Hayes Thing is no one in the prem is going to give the job to anyone who has no experience managing mens teams so if she actually wanted a go with a prem side she would have to start in the EFL and use it as a stepping stone
For some reason, my phone only said there was 1 page when I clicked reply to you. Was when I updated and realised there's 3 pages and someone's already commented similar to what I put - my bad! It would certainly be a unique signing. I wouldn't be against it. I can only imagine what some fans would be like when it isnt going their way. Dont really care if its a boy, girl or pigeon, as long as we get some results on the pitch
The standard of players she is managing is probably league 2/Non league...... Don't know how she would cope with egos involved at the top level
I've just been looking at some of the available football managers - and when did they all get so *young*? Please, appoint an older statesman so I can pretend that I'm not too old for the next 12 months. I doubt he'd come, but Potter would probably be a good choice and needs to redeem himself - although I'd be surprised if he wasn't holding out for a Premier League job.
