Good luck fella. He's offered nowt for me this last season, but seems to have lost all confidence. I hope for him he gets his mojo back.
I can only wish him the best of luck, he's an honest player and has the potential to do really well. I'll never forget his performance at the sty last year.
Quite shocked by this. But I wouldn’t say disappointed in all honesty. Apart from the Fulham game right at the very start and then a few games at the start of this season, he’s never really shown much. Wish him well, apart from against us of course.
Good luck to him. Whether you thought he was the best player we've ever had, the worst player we've ever had or somewhere In between, there's one thing that is undeniable and that's that he always tried. I dont remember him ever hiding or strolling around. Good luck Luke, I hope you have a great career and a happy life.
We haven't really "lost" any of our players. Bobbt Thomas and Isted were not ours and Luke Thomas isn't going to be under contract. I'll worry once Mads and Luca get sold. I'd be amazed if either are with us for the first game of the season.
We'll definitely lose players. Every club loses players every season. Luke Thomas was a fringe player, Isted was never gonna come as soon as Duff buggered off, and Andersen wasn't expected stay even if Duff had. Loads of players were loans. There are players with a year left, that the Club might need to make decisions on, and other players will have been tempted by Championship regardless. I think for me, I'll start getting worried if the key players with 2 years left, start leaving. And of course if any of them end up at Swansea. Luca, Cadden, Kitching, Phillips, Kane etc. I've no doubt people will start flapping when players leave, but the reality is there would have been players leaving even if Duff had stayed. That's just football.
Shame to see Thomas go, I think he’s really useful at League 1 level. Maybe we offered him a reduced wage as a squd player though. Given he’s not been a regular starter I suppose it’s not a disaster for us. Bring someone new in
My worry is how we replace those players that leave, especially Mads. He can’t be replaced by a novice, but I fear he will be. If so, that could’ve been a factor in Duff wanting away
We’re not gonna replace Mads with someone as good. I think we all realise that. I’m not convinced we need to though, but that’s just my opinion. Regarding everyone else, I totally agree there are certain players we absolutely have to keep if we’re expecting another promotion push next season. Let’s also not forget though, how people felt about many of these players at the start of the season. Many didn’t give them a chance of finishing top half.
It's a difficult one to judge. I certainly saw an improvement in him at the start of the season, but not enough to say he was pivotal to us winning football matches. Adam Phillips took a while to settle, and I reckon it was Christmas before Duff finally settled on a midfield trio of Kane, Connell and Phillips, which ultimately was what caused us to briefly challenge the top 2.
Not sure how to read this tweet but it could be taken as feeling he’s lost time whilst at Barnsley fc.
I think he just means he got Rovers promoted, came back to us, did well and then got a bad injury (lost time), and now he's back at Rovers. Lost time between leaving them and returning too. It's a great move for him and he can be closer to his family. And he is endeared to their fanbase.
He was in town last night with Kitching.I shook his hand and wished him all the best.He seems a genuine nice fella, good luck to him.
