Moore would be a great appointment. What happened at wednesday we will or may never know but I don't care either way. If he's appointed, I will back him all the way. I have a feeling we are the type of team he wants to manage. Sustainability and a long term building progress without any major debt.
I suspect duff was a pretty charismatic guy and will leave a hole in a dressing room full of young lads. Young lads who will be low and need picking up. They will need a big character to bring them back up and Darren is just that. Everyone warms to him. I think it would be a good fit if he is prepared to play high press
It might be the football he wants to play. He tried to play it at oakwell in the second half but got dismantled because of the fowls players are ageing and not instructed to do that
Lucky Leeds! Think they ll go straight back up if that hapoens. Any chance we could steal Patrick from under their nose!?
It’s an absolute non-brainer! Surely even Khaled can see this… We’ve just bankrolled 500k for Duff, he knows the club, knows the staff - he can bring in his No.2 that he always has and work with Devaney at the same time. He knows the league, he’ll have a good idea of our squad and the players that have left there should be funds available for new players. Get him in this week, 1st pre-season game is next Saturday…
Couldn’t agree more. An ex-red, a man of integrity with a good track record. Knows the league and how to get out of it. Perfect fit for me. We’ve had enough fly by nights, time for loyalty and stability at Oakwell. Appoint Darren Moore and I foresee settled and sustained success.
Seriously, the quicker you realise managers do not have long term loyalty to football clubs, the better. For your sake. If Darren Moore comes, does well, then gets approached by a bigger club, he’ll be off. People really do need to come to terms with this.
Would have Moore, but heard a whisper that him, Jones and Wilder were not in the frame as they would want full charge of player recruitment and not the stats. department.Hope its wrong.
Agreed, he could only play the football he did at the Sty due to the ageing players and half of them the size of the Harlem Globetrotters.
I don’t know Darren Moore, but from what I have seen and heard of him he does not appear to be driven solely by the pursuit of cold hard cash. Call me naive, but it may surprise you to hear that such people do actually exist and have aims and priorities beyond bagging the next big payout. Sounds like you think you know the price of everyone and the values of nobody.
I don’t believe it’s solely the pursuit of cold hard cash, or bagging the next payout. I think there’s usually more to it than that. I don’t think that’s all it was about for Duff either. What I’m suggesting is that managers aren’t loyal to football clubs, and if better offers come along they won’t think twice about leaving. That’s not based on cynicism, it’s based on what has happened at Barnsley Football Club, on many occasions. I expect our next manager to be exactly the same. It’s up to them to prove me wrong.
Let's also remember Daniel Stendel have up his pay during Covid at Hearts so that the lower paid staff got paid.
