Mark Crossley on Twitter says that Kevin Nolan would make a good head coach for Barnsley. Not so sure myself?
Nah, not for me. Couple of stints as player-manager 5 years ago. Nothing of note since. Long list of better candidates in front of him.
Supposed to be the ultimate shìthouse. With Norwood on the pitch and Nolan in the technical area, we should be able to get at least 4 opposing players sent off per game.
Allan Clarke, Norman Hunter, John Toshack, Johnny Giles. It simply isn't true to claim player/managers never work. If the position never worked, it would be impossible to show examples of where it has.
I'm too young to remember any of those player managers. I can remember jon hendrie when we came down and had a great chance of going straight back up and it didn't happen and he was eventually sacked.
Correct. Donks was spot on when he said "Usually don’t work and never work aren’t quite the same thing".
Kenny Dalglish did the double in his season as player-manager of Liverpool, even scoring the goal that clinched the title
