I suspect this is the case. To be fair I didn’t think it was bad business at the time. Cracking player but This is the first season where he’s been injury free.
Exactly what my first thought was. My hunch is they’ll end up paying more, either as extra instalments or after 50 or whatever appearances
Anyone really surprised we are an absolute push over when it comes to transfers. Act like a stepping stone get treated like one.
Is that you Khaled? Didn't think it was bad business lol think people forgot we got into the playoffs in the championship the season before and he was a big reason why along with Dike
His numbers still weren't brilliant though. Nowhere near the numbers he's getting at Luton. Some players just suit some clubs better than others
These stories annoy me immensely. He was the best centre forward we had since Ashley Ward (Neil Shipperley *).
One year left on his contract, Club absolutely skint and just relegated. Likely one of the bigger earners and injury prone but… if he’d have been upfront last year I have no doubt he would have torn up league one. it really is a game of chance for the owners, hold on and he would now be a free agent, cash in and cover some of the losses.
He was head and shoulders above being our best player when we got relegated if you couldn’t see what he was worth then he’s no surprise we let him go on the cheap. Which is always the Barnsley way.
It seems like he remained fit all season for them…. Yet here, he seemed to be in and out of the Physio’s room almost on a weekly basis.
Absolutely! And there was no way we were ever going to keep hold of him. At 26, having spent far too long on the books at Norwich, there was no way Morris was going to drop back into league 1. Would have wanted a move regardless, and we were in no position to stop him. £1.3m seems a bit on the low side, but people are deluded if they think we were ever going to get more than £1.5m for an injury prone striker with a year left on his contract, just after we'd been relegated.
He literally lied about being injured. He clearly didn't want to be here. If they don't wanna be here, let them go. I didnt say he wasnt our best player or that he was only worth 1.3m. I've just perhaps it was a relegation release clause.
