Not at all. why post a thread without exploring his availability first. Having joined another new club. (A month ago) Why throw summat out there on a whim. Might as well have put Pep Guardiola.

I wasn't meaning to cast a conspiracy if that's how you read it.

I was only pointing out that these duff to Swansea rumours were a while back. The blanket silence from the club was just that. And that Khalid had said we are prepared.

Merely pointing out those events isn't a conspiracy, it's what has happened. But will be found out one way or another if we have been prepared. And as I said, I'd be surprised if the club didn't have a list from the outset. Which was actually backing the club (and the only thing which we don't know)

Or have a said something to the contrary?

    Interesting shout Winnie.
He came to Tannadice as an unknown. Managed Kelty Hearts at Junior level and league 2. Then again Alex Ferguson started at East Stirlingshire.
Came in and did ok. At the time we had idiots upstairs running things and I don’t think he got the backing he deserved. Also seasoned professionals looked like objected to taking orders from a young rookie.
Like you say he got us into a position that European football returned to Tannadice but seemed to be drummed out of the club.
I’d have been happy for him to continue. Still lots to learn but was doing fine imo.
Now look where we are but Jim Goodwin seems to have rooted out the poisonous ones and the American chairman has replaced is man in charge who single handedly ruined us.
Tam might be a bit of a chance but it might pay off. Life is full of risks.

I always post threads without research. I find it generates more debate and makes people feel good when they think they're cleverer than me.

My point is that 31 day ago was when Alexander started a new job which is a month ago & we were not actively looking for a new manager back then but if we were compiling a list of replacements for in case the inevitable happened then we have certainly not missed out on Alexander as he would not even have been on that list.

My apologies mate, I misread your post completely. Didn't sleep very well last night.

In regards to the OP stating we've missed out on Alexander, the club could put all the planning in the world in for Duff leaving, but sometimes you can't control things. We weren't looking for a coach when Alexander was available, so it's hard to say we've missed out.

    Righto.

So my mistake was not actually pointing out that I didn't agree with the OP... I don't even know who that guy Alexander is tbh.

Didn't feel the need to start yet another new thread, maybe I should have or posted it somewhere else
