"Barnsley FC CEO, Khaled El-Ahmad, said: “We would like to thank Martin for his professionalism and commitment during his time at Oakwell and wish him the best of luck for the future.”

That's all well and good Khaled, but is the new head coach appointment imminent?!

He was hardly going to shoehorn the head coach announcement onto the back of that statement.

People get thanked very easily these days. Commitment? He was here a year.

If he has done a good job why should he not be thanked ? We sacked 2 coaches inside 6 months , did we shoe commitment ? no but we showed respect & wished them well , old saying but a true one, " coutesy costs nothing "

Let us remind ourselves of the lack of courtesy afforded to a fantastic bloke still: The statement read: "Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager." It doesn't get easier with time does it.

The poster just rightfully reminded me of the fact courtesy costs nothing and even the chuckle brothers received some respect. Daniel deserved better.

Absolutely not! I thoroughly agree with everything you said :) my point was that it's a shame that as a club we couldn't do the same for a great guy in Stendel (who got us promoted) as we did for this Paterson fella who, frankly, I couldn't pick out of a line-up. It's not a dig at you, you don't write the club statements do you.

Stendl left under a cloud of accusations and put on gardening leave. These haven't.

Had it on very good authority that the Stendle statement that was wrote up by the press department was rejected and torn up before being returned with the 21 worded statement that they were instructed to publish. Give you one guess who ripped and returned it it up
Clue...the same guy who unofficially gave DS permission to talk to Huddersfield then denied it all .....
