    Never really felt a genuine connection for me, between him and the club. Felt one with Duff instantly. No big loss. Good luck to them.

    Is that some kind of justification for the statement? Even if the accusations were true what's the difference between him and Duff who was considering offers before the final?

    The club can confirm that Martin Paterson has left as Assistant Head Coach to join Swansea City.

    Arriving last summer, the 36-year-old linked up with the Reds to assist Michael Duff ahead of the 22/23 campaign.

    Barnsley FC CEO, Khaled El-Ahmad, said: “We would like to thank Martin for his professionalism and commitment during his time at Oakwell and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
