Apologies for this one guys but sadly the euphoria of Wembley and the play offs is ebbing away with each day. Manager gone Assistant manager gone Main central defender gone Loan players we wanted gone And centre mid playmaker tipped to depart. Training starts without a coach No serious transfer news especially for a striker which we all think we need...And no news on our loan players staying or moving on. Kick off is just around the corner and our preperation looks poor to say the least. Really concerned that the feel good factor of the second half of last season is draining away. back to the East stand library...having a negative time at moment so can't see any upside (if there is any upside) really hope am proved wrong but can't see where the good news will come from..happy for anyone to tell me am wrong and why...
I think a central defender is most important for us imo. If Andersen does leave, and no Bobby Thomas, it's a little worrying. But the board have done extremely well in their short time at the helm, so I'm confident mate. This time next month we might be buzzing..!
Roughly this time last year, there was a poll, on here, asking for opinions of where folk thought we would end the season. My own thoughts/hopes were lower-mid table, 10th-16th ish. Anyhow, as the summer unfolded and after a sluggish start to the season, my optimism returned and became a very enjoyable and entertaining season. My point is that, at this stage, I understand the gloom and bleak outlook, but don’t write the season off before it even gets started. After the rain came sun…and all that.
Kick off is 5 weeks or so away. In 5 weeks I could walk to a corner in the Outer Hebrides (boat assisted).
2 steps forward 5 steps backwards again at Barnsley. We are back to square one again, last season might as well not have happened. We are now at our level & look very precarious from a financial point of view. League 2 beckons. There’s going to be a massive power shift, the likes of Bradford, Donny, Wrexham will all be a league or two above us soon.
I'm due to retire soon and am up for a long walk. But wouldn't make it to Outer S75. Never mind Hebrides Anywhere I walk has to be uphill first so's I can be sure to get back down. Home.
I was speaking tongue-in-cheek on the other post. Now I'm convinced you actually are a secret Wednesdayite... Spy! You were also one of the ones saying we'd be relegated last year too, weren't you? Barry Bannan I know that's you
Jesus there's some negative stuff on here but this must be a challenger for gold medal. What on earth have Bradford and/or Donny shown in recent years to suggest they'll be climbing rungs up the football pyramid anyway?! 'We are now at our level' - what level is that? League One? Or do you mean something else? 'League Two beckons' - have a bet then as we're 3rd favourites to win the league currently (I don't agree with that now Duff has gone) so you'll get some nice odds!
He says similar on multiple posts, all the time mate. As said above I'm convinced he's secret Wednesdayite. No other explanation for it...
Nah. New manager IF we get a couple of recruitment's correct and a couple of wins to start us off. The atmosphere will be different. I honestly think we are thinking the worst because of the past few years
The past few years haven't actually been all bad... play offs in the championship, relegation, then play offs in league one. Without context, it doesn't scream disastrous. But I do agree with you, I think we have to change the mindset we have/had when Conway was here. He's gone now, thankfully..!
