Has a manager ever gone from a Prem job straight to a league one job? Doesn’t seem realistic, people betting with their hearts and not their heads maybe
I agree. Challinor would be my first pick too but I think he's got some money to play with at Stockport and doesn't have a pittance of a release clause in his contract. Nathan Jones would be my second pick though.
Unfortunately, based on his time with Stoke and Southampton, he isn't a straight talker. Really don't like the man and his delusions about how good he thinks he is... until he wins us our first 3 games int league and then he'll be best manager in league!
Rob Station on radio Sheff "understands" that Sheff Wed haven't spoken to Smith.. as of half n hour ago
I'm not convinced https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...he-funniest-manager-in-premier-league-history https://www.skysports.com/football/...a-huge-learning-curve-after-three-month-reign
He's used to having the biggeest budget in the division though for the last 4 or 5 seasons. Big culture shock coming to us.
Maybe “straight talking” was a bit much but I can’t see him coming out with the waffle that Duff did. Realistically, I can’t see him coming here but I’m open to it.
By the way, Nathan Jones, Bruce Dyer, Darren Moore - is anyone linked to the job who isn't a massive hardcore Christian? I reckon it'll be Billy Graham and Justin Welby
Supremes had it better You packed your bags as I recall And you walked slowly down the hall You said you had to get away to ease your mind And all you needed was a just little of time
Nathan Jones - not for me thanks. Couldn't care less whether he is a bell or not. The thing that would concern me is (a) He would be jumping down 2 divisions so will clearly think he's filling time waiting for his move back to where he feels he belongs and (b) he clearly has no qualms about following the money after binning off Luton twice to follow his ambition. If we appoint him and he does OK we will almost certainly be back in the same position within a year. He will be linked with every job vacancy in the top 2 divisions. I want someone who might give enough of a crap about Barnsley to stick around for 2 whole years.
That had crossed my mind. If we're going to go down the Christian route, I'd want us to go all the way. Billy Graham is a good call. Hopefully with Joel Osteen as his assistant, and the Westboro Baptist Church as the backroom team.
