Probably harsh but there's no way he justifies a place as a batter

I watched a shot or two of the Aussies batting in the Nineties.
Basically they put more positivity into Test cricket and hence increased the average scoring rate across the board.
They were naturally aggressive players and were encouraged to play to their instincts.
McCullum has encouraged our batters to bring their white ball game to Test cricket.
If it creates chaos in the other team all is good.

It’s certainly good for watching ( and annoying at times )

Harsh but I agree. He isn't in the side on merit. If anything he's keeping Foakes or Wood out of the team.

He's a specialist captain, bit like Brearley was. A force multiplier.

Wood is keeping Wood out of the team, injured again.

Blimey they've constantly bowled the short ball to us, we are constantly swinging at it stupidly and getting caught out.

    Brainless play this.

Imagine bringing in an opening bat to replace your premium spinner

Ffs Harry some of our batting this innings has been atrocious.

Starc had a few overs left at most, why didn't they ride out the bouncers and go again? We don't have to get a boundary with every shot.

This isn't bazball. This is stupidity and should be questioned if we lose this test match after they lost Lyon on day 2.

Yes but this is brainless cricket. As Vaughan just said, they must like losing.

A home Ashes series over after two tests. Bazball is all well and good against the weaker sides but it was never going to work the same against a tough side like the Aussies.
At least mix it up a bit and use some common sense in certain situations.
    Brainless.......

Stupid idiots. You must be clever enough to realise when the odds are in your favour. They aren’t whilst they keep bowling short.

simpleton cricket, the Aussies can’t believe their luck here

I can't disagree with you, it is falling for their obvious trap.

Seems like there's a fine line between wanting to make the game entertaining, and disrespecting the game. I think that has been crossed. Was probably crossed in New Zealand with the ridiculous decision to enforce the follow on, losing the second test match, when leading the series 1-0.

This innings is a shocker. It's just braindead cricket, and goes beyond risking losing a game to increase your chances of winning. All we've done is throw it away.

One thing that will make Test cricket vulnerable, is if people don't care whether they win or lose.

Ooooh look at me. I back away and try and swot it over cover. Nice one Bazball.

You've all the ability in the world Harry, just bat.

It's annoying that we have ended up with a bit of farce of an innings, with terrorist bowling, bad decision making by our middle order and are now dependent on a bairstow masterclass and jimmy and Broady again coming up with the goods. But to call the series over and a waste of time before lunch on day three of the second test, or demand Stokes is dropped and McCullum sacked is just knee-jerk nonsense. How we bad we were last winter, that horrific carribean test after the worse ashes in living memory. Have some faith in the lads, it will come good.
