spoke to collins yesterday at worksop what a miserable get asked if he were fit and ready as he was left out he said he was fit but his body language and attitude was rubbish ,i asked if hed be ready to go at the start of the season and again very dispondant and said i suppose if they want me ,not the attitude you want from your number 1
All this.. i'm happy to fight for my place with any competition, is b0ll0cks. players want to play, simple as. If they're fit and not playing then they're never happy.
Fair comment really, he hadn't done much to warrant dropping and then we obviously tried to sign Isted this summer so you can't blame him for not feeling wanted.
Tbf though, both those things were likely driven by duff, who’s now not here, and neither is Isted. He shouldn’t now be holding a grudge against the Club. They don’t pick the team. Bairnin’ with fans isn’t a good look.
He could very quickly change his mind and attitude when the new coach comes in if he says he rates him.
Holding a grudge against the club? Bairnin' with fans? He was asked two questions and answered them by confirming he's fit and he'll be ready for the start of the season if he's selected. What's he supposed to do, take Dave out for a beer and give him a hand job?
He wasn"t dropped he was injured & Walton had gone, we had to get a keeper in & Isted did the business .
Collins is a great keeper. One year on his contract. The manager situation needs sorting, understandably he is in no mans land at the minute. If the new manager backs him there may be a new contract. If not he's sold on, or his contract runs down. These are all young lads with short careers. Nothing more to read into any of this.
What do you mean wasn't treated great ?. Should he have been brought back into the side when fit. Irrespective of how Isted performed. In football It doesn't work like that. If you earn your place you deserve to keep it. And obviously Duff thought the same. It applies to most players. Unless a player is of superior quality. Of course he will have been disappointed but that's part of the trade so to speak. As for yesterday. it was basically a fitness programme. I fully expect Collins to feature in the next few friendlies unless sold. But if he is. I reckon a replacement will be in place beforehand. William's is in the same position as Brad. He was also there yesterday. ?
