I'm sure that doing a "bad" triathalon is far and away better than what most people can dream of achieving!
Currently in Spain were, over the last 12 days, have developed a new hobby of getting increasingly angrier at parents who sit and watch there kids who are absolutely bloody awful at pool hog the table for ages, to the point of ******* about for 5 minutes with just the white ball left when they can see people are waiting
Cycling mainly - commute to work most days by bike, road ride March-October and trail ride through the winter. Walking, mainly local area - something I only really started during lockdown but can do a 6 or 7 mile loop from home and around Rabbit Ings at Royston and back. Done a few longer ones in the Lake District, Derwent Valley, Yorkshire Dales and along the coast too. Going to Filey is pretty much a hobby too when I can.
World of Warcraft. NFL. Model railways. Would like to get into cricket again but limited availability/ability in general.
Listening to music. A bit of drinking. Dominoes once our season starts. Grand children. My daughter lives in Shetland so I really should pay a visit while the weather is good and the football yet to start.
Model Railways. Collecting OO. Watching football. Started going to junior cricket matches watching my nephew's play for South Kirkby. A bit of photography. Interestingly George has just started taking random pictures on his iPad. Tonight he was photographing a rainbow while doing WhatsApp. Travelling, history. ITV 3 sleuthing shows. I like using my stargazing app. After all that planty of boozing and cracking off to redtube.
Stephen seeing as you are a bit of a train fan. I’ve just read that the Flying Scotsman is coming up the east coast tomorrow. Passing Dundee around 12.15.
I gave beekeeping a go during lockdown, self-taught from watching YouTube videos and reading books. I'm now in the middle of my 4th season of it. The more I learn doing it, the more I want to learn more, and I've started getting involved in teaching novice beekeepers via my local beekeeping associations. My other regular hobby is playing poker, both online and live. I played pretty seriously until around 2012, prior to parenthood taking away much of the free time needed to do so. Have started to dabble in it again now that the kids are older, but am having to re-build a bankroll from scratch, which requires a lot of patience.
For years mine was restoring minis, the last one I did was a 1990 mini checkmate. Unfortunately I sold it last summer as it wasn’t a particularly desirable spec. Best model I did was a 1968 cooper, took me 3 years to complete and sold it for 22 thousand. Sounds a lot of money, but if I looked back at what it cost me to restore? I probably lost money. I did it for the love of the cars though and the enjoyment really (not that there’s any enjoyment, you spend 50% of the time building them and the other 50 is spent kicking the **** out of them) My little lad is also car mad, so we go to a lot of super car festivals/shows.
