Who's to say that Devaney would be the best option? One thing I found quite evident on Saturday at Worksop, is that it was Tom Harban being the most vocal on the touchline and giving out instructions. With the greatest respect to Devaney, I didn't think his voice was being heard when he trying to give out instructions, whereas Harban was really barking out. I understand that he might not be the most experienced coach, but to me at least, he appears to be the most likely leader from the sidelines.

This isn't me saying I'd give him the job, but if I noticed it from one spell stood close to the dugout, surely the board have too. I love Devaney, but he's never struck me as the most commanding leader of men.

If we recruit from within that would suggest to me all our targets have turned us down and we have had no option, only reason recruiting someone already here would take so long.
    IMO of course

But Devaney played that same role under Long-Haul

Not sure we should give the job to the person who shouts loudest.

I have no problem if we recruit from within. If we already have the best candidate working for us then absolutely we should.

I don't know any of the coaches at Barnsley (or any other potential manager come to that) so I have no opinion on whether a BFC employee should be offered the job. But if we do, whether that's Tom or Martin or whoever, I trust the board to have promoted them because they have the necessary credentials for the role.

If shouting on the touchline was what it took, we should go for Scott Brown....If we gave it Harban the BBS would run out of bandwidth from the meltdown.

I'm like Foghorn Leghorn when I get going. Perhaps if that's the barometer for success anyone who sits in the Ponte End should apply.

Maybe we should employ Jill Drake - who in 2000 set a record for the loudest individual shout at 129dB.

Gareth Southgate hasn't done bad out of the quiet approach.

Agreed it’d look like whoever we appoint would have been taken on in desperation. Great boost for anyone appointed from within. Ps If Delaney or anyone else from within had been considered as a viable option for manager they’d surely have been in post over a week ago.

Great lad Devaney but no way he should be anywhere near the job and I’m sure the board will know that. It would be like appointing your very competent window cleaner to fit your double glazing.
