I coach an U14s (next season sees the introduction of kicking for points and lineouts) rugby union side @ Trafford MetroVicks and I support Sale Sharks. I love growing veggies in summer - potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, green beans, strawbs and onions are all inthe ground at the moment. I watch cricket - was at Lords for the Eng v Ire land game recently or at Old Trafford trying not to support Lancs. I make plastic models - airfix or similar or little plastic figures like Games Workshop stuff.
Motorcycles MMA Golf Motorcycles Used to do quite a bit of Sugarcraft, decorating cakes and making flowers. Folk never used to appreciate the time, effort and skill that went into it. When I used to tell how much I’d charge, the general response was they could buy one in Asda/Tesco much cheaper. **** off and buy one from there then !!!!! But in a nice way.
I follow boxing and cricket, on TV and go to matches at Headingley with my son. I watch a lot of films, both at home and I go to the cinema at least a couple of times per week. Big fan of horror films, James Bond, Batman (I have a stupid amount of comics!) I enjoy doing jigsaws with my son. I collect things…too many things…far too many things! But most of all, I’m obsessively (that may be an understatement!) into music and, since I medically retired 7 or 8 years ago, most of my day I’m listening to music, scouring the internet for cheap records/CDs, exploring new genres to expand my musical tastes (e.g. I spent 2-3 years listening to pretty much nothing but rap music a few years ago, then a couple of years doing similar with jazz), and giving myself daft projects that I enjoy, but in the grand scheme of things are pretty pointless.
Travel. I try to visit 1-2 new places in the UK every year (as well as return to the better ones we've already been to). Already planning the next 5 years worth of foreign holidays (California, Korea/Japan, Washington/Oregon, Jordan/Iceland, and the Mid West). Photography - although one day I'd like to take a decent photo Music - Currently working my way through the best albums of the 80s and 90s. Only 2000 left to go!
Getting out walking in quiet places and taking in the beautiful nature and wildlife. Trains with my son both real and model, slowly been building a OO gauge layout Gardening
Gaelic Games - I am a referee for Gaelic football, Hurling, Ladies Gaelic Football and Camogie. Also coach an adult Ladies Gaelic Football Team Motorbikes, motorbike rallies and touring locally I collect, paint and game with historical wargaming miniatures - all periods Reading - mainly history and fantasy stuff Music - all sorts, listening, collecting, gigs where I can Comedy live Hmmm, I can see why work struggles to be fitted in !
Grandchildren. Reading about archaeology (not fit enough to actually do any excavating). Feeding birds in the garden.
Long distance running. Last year I ran a 100 mile race and won it, and qualified for the British Spartathlon team. I'm injured now though. Music, guitar and computers.
Grandkids young Alfie spends most of the weekend with us take him training Monday's and enjoy watching him play during the season his brother George comes and stays Wednesday so they keep us busy.
The older I get, the angrier I become, I'm thinking about becoming a free consultant to companies who have crap web sites with links that don't work or provide wrong information or a professional complainer to the Advertising Standards Authority when companies lie or intentionally mislead on television advertising.
