But the point is, whether they are home or abroad isn't the only factor in whether a coach will do well or not. If we bring anyone in that plays it out from the back, with a back four and a lone striker, chances are it won't go well, regardless of where they come from. That's what we did with Schopp, and to add to the mix, we didn't bring any of his assistant coaches with him.

The thing that makes this stand out as a hoax is the fact that the English is far too natural-sounding to be a translation from the German. Most such "translations" are semi-gibberish.

But.....this kind of works because its the sort of nonsense appointment that we could reasonably expect. The bloke has a patchy track record in Austria, where I sometimes wonder if Worsborough Bridge would win their second tier. From the footage I've seen, the pitches have more trees round the edges than fans watching the match

Someone at work has already mentioned this to me and he doesn't even read this board. Shows how quickly stuff gets around and then reported as the truth.

I will now come clean and say that this of course was completely ficticious. It's true, I didn't write it, but as mentioned above, it's entirely the work of AI.

I was trying to prove how easy it is to get a rumour started after many believed Chris Wilder was due to be appointed, simply because he was the favourite in the betting when it was suspended.

Whilst my rumour didn't appear on any 'Football League World' type websites, it did circulate on twitter, and even got a response from Doug O'Kane.

But yes Doug, I was 'pillocking', albeit to try and prove a point. It didn't really work ultimately, but my rumour did make it out of the confides of the BBS.

You did such a good job, that while shopping at Aldi yesterday, a random bloke who saw I was wearing a Reds shirt approached me and said "know owt about the new manager?" After saying nope, dunno, he replied with "I've heard it's an Austrian bloke with a long name."

    And no, it wasn't Disco.

I got a whatsapp from a Bolton fan asking about a random Austrian, so it had made its way to their forums.
