I doubt we do see him next year, the club still needs cash and his pay will be well above what BFC will want to pay in league one.

Hope I’m wrong because I think he is a real talent.

Agree with you , when fans are getting worried about players leaving the club, to retain a current international with a lot of championship experience , still young & playing at a level he is clearly above would improve our match day squad immensely .

Probably not, but he probably doesn’t want to be in League One either. My guess is we agree on something near £1.5m and he’s gone before the end of August, if not the end of July.

Agents are savvy when new contracts signed.
It's no massive surprise when teams come sniffing around players ,knowing full well they have had the heads up from players agents that players have a clause saying x amount of money gives the player an option to leave.
Remember Vaz Te 500k in his contract to buy him out of it.
As soon as West Ham got wind of it ,they were in , when not long before no one would touch him with a barge pole until BFC turned his career around.
    That's the state of play.
Styles will have a buy out clause, hence him signing am extended deal.
Which in my opinion was very savvy from the board for getting this done ,as he would have ran his contract down and gone for sweet f&%$ all.

His (alleged) fee for Millwall to take up the option was £1.7mn if you believe their forums.

Not be far off , as his agent would influence that decision for him to extend his contract.

Full international, highly regarded Championship player, arguably his best years ahead of him. £2m seems reasonable in present day market.

Have they signed him yet? If not, why not? Seems weird to not have done it by now.

I don't think they wanted to make that level of payment and, also, it's probably difficult to get sign-off when your CEO is no longer around.

I doubt we'll get the asking price for him, more like a deal with loads of add-ons (but what do I know)

The value is the value. That's why we extended the contract. If no one stumps up, he stays.

On his Insta profile, he’s in a hotel overlooking the Thames yesterday (pretty sure it wasn’t Leeds!).

So off to Millwall or Watford he goes…..

Unless we accept a lower bid for him. If he wants away, and somebody offers us £1.5m, can you see the club holding out for the extra £0.2-0.5m?

Yeah, I take your point. There has to be a line drawn somewhere though. If we're willing to accept 1.5, what if they offer 1.4...or 1.3 etc? If someone came in with 1.5 cash, I'm sure we'd seriously consider it though.

TBF, his best football has been under Val.

He’s been average pretty much since then, and only a touch better prior.

I think we’d just say ok 1.5 million plus 10% sell on.

Gotta expect it announced tomorrow latest that he's gone. Because of international duty we were told he would get a few extra days off. Players have been back 11 days and he's down south.

Wouldn’t expect more than 750k for him, he’s had one good flash in the pan season with us, where he was played out of position. He’s too lightweight to be a midfielder, but wasn’t a fan of playing lwb, and he certainly isn’t an attacking midfielder in that number 10 role Schopp & PE teacher played him. He wasn’t great in us few appearances for us last season either, at a lower level.

Styles is an international footballer, only 23 and been playing in the championship for the past what 3 and a half seasons? I think £2 million is fairly cheap. But, as always, it’s whatever a club is willing to pay.

I imagine he’ll be moving on permanently in the next few weeks. I wish him good luck.

If we're still paying his wages and we've had no firm offers for him, why is he not training here?
