The fact that you consider a League 2 manager to be an unrealistic option for us speaks volumes in itself.

Wonder if he spoke to Big Mick before deciding.
Well good luck. Top 6 a must.
Remember a certain Mr Wilson and Mr Clarke weren't managers before they came to us. We all know what happened with these 2 gentlemen.
Jury's out but he's here now let's give him a chance.
October before I start to scrutinise him then at least we've November and December to change things.
The board need Disco to remain at the club to steady the ship behind the scene.
Realistically I'm in the Challinor camp.
    Time to get shopping board.
Any news on the playerfrom Grimsby?

    Nobody said they were.

I said the other week that they wouldn't be. We look for Attacking, high press teams, those 2 don't hit either.

Added to the fact wages are well out of what we pay Coaches

Any "smokescreen" created in relation to Moore and Wilder was created by supporters, not the club!

I'm quite happy with this appointment. Glad the target is still promotion so if he doesn't hit the ground running he'll get the chop. Good luck to him. Can't see him getting that long if things aren't going well though. Reckon his first ten games will be key.

He was unrealistic because he'll be on more money there than we'd offer, plus they're very much a club on the up.

Would be nice if he took over straight away but he’s managing Tampa one last time this weekend still we can’t have everything.

Interesting write up in the YP about Mick McCarthy, Danny Wilson and Harry Maguire influencing him…..

If he'd been sacked he'd have had the Tampa axe.

How do you know how much he’s cost?

There was no “smoke screen” it was all rumours started by fans.

I remember him as a player and he was pretty good - hard and a fierce competitor.

It's another left-field appointment and I've no idea how he'll do but am prepared to give him a chance. I think the Morais / Stendel / Struber / Ismael / Schopp / Asbaghi appointments were always going to be short term because they lived in another country and didn't move their family with them. And imo none of them genuinely came here thinking it'd be long term, we were just a stepping stone. I'm therefore encouraged by the fact that he's coming back to the UK and trust that he will be bringing his family with him.

The bigger question for me is whether he has a release clause? Because if so and he does well, he'll be another that goes quickly. And it'll illustrate that what is most important continues to be resale value rather than continuity and actually building for the future.

And I'm not having the old "we wouldn't have got him without one" BS, he's moving from a US second division team with average crowds of around 5,500. In my opinion it's much more that we're giving him an opportunity than he's doing us a favour by agreeing to come. if we are ambitious as Khaled keeps saying then we have to stop behaving like we're small time and if we don't, that's exactly what we'll continue to be.

I'm happy. Good luck to him. If he's crap we'll find out soon enough.

I *think* that the USA leagues are split into regions - West Coast and East Coast - and the winners of each play-off in the final to win the Division. So Tampa were the East Coast Champions and had one final cancelled for Covid and won the other.

Came as surprise news to me, like everyone else.

The more I read about him the more it makes sense. Has clearly done well there, but has probably taken them as far as they can go. A move back to Yorkshire & a chance to prove himself in L1.

As others have said, it is all down to the recruitment / retention of our better players now.

I'm neither jumping for joy, or dejected. I'd rather have a manager that has played at Championship / League One level & already has managerial experience, albeit in the second flight of US "soccer". His "shut out" record makes me think we'll be organised at the back. We'll need to see how he does with our forward line, which definitely needs additions. Norwood & Cole fine. If Iseka can pull his finger out, we have 3. Maybe some sub starts for Jalo this season, but we need a bit more quality up top, if we are going to challenge for the top 2.

We've brought him in on a two-year deal, which I guess people will draw their own conclusions on. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no release clauses this time round, but who knows.
