Pseudo American kit? Kit based on our kit from the 80s.
Pseudo American coach? Scottish bloke who played 500 games in England.

Whilst I understand the use of "pseudo" in this context, you're miles off.

Had anyone heard of Kieran McKenna or Steven Schumacher before they both pissed the league last season? Neither had any experience in this division before they were appointed.

Genuine question, do you expect us to continue last seasons good work and go one better this season?
All the ingredients are there to do well in my opinion.

I think we'll have a good season, but won't 'go one better'. Top 10 finish.

Welcome to the club Neill. Also scored more goals for us than some of the strikers we've had!

Top 10 should be a very safe bet if we don't sell anyone.

Too true Helen, don't get fans trying to lower expectations when we are a very competitive club in this division.

Don't get me wrong; I'm excited about next season and if we don't lose any more key personnel, we could well be there or thereabouts come the end of it. It just feels like a bit of a reset & rebuild one for me.

The 80's kit was embarrassingly pseudo American, revisiting it is not a plus point. However the second part was meant humorously.

Keeping vast majority of team together. bringing Collins back add Shaw up front and there's no reason not to be top six...Collins is picking up a squad that was very sucessful last season and just needs the old it's not broke don't fix it mentality to make a good start..

I do hope his short time with us is a successful one.

I look forward to the day next summer when he’s announces as Coventry City’s new boss.

It is tough to get attached and excited by new players/managers at this club after the last 5+ years. But that’s no fault of his and he does deserve the full backing, which I’ve no doubt he will get.

    Good luck Neill. You reds.

Always seems to be a reset and rebuild but we'll still have a good core and promotion should be the aim.

I like the cut of his jib. He's not flapping his gums about long haul, loyalty etc and is open in saying he might have stayed if you could get promoted over there.

Monday when it all escalated, which was when the bookies suspended betting. So whilst it didn't break in the media, I wonder if somehow they got wind of it.

I think Football is underrated over there because there is an handful of more popular sports in America. Over here the weather doesn't change much across the whole country, teams can travel to away games the day before on a coach, and fans can take a few thousand on the day.

Over there for Saturday games it can be a Wednesday plane journey to get over any possible jet lag and to acclimatise to the different weather. You don't see many if any away support either.

Best of luck to Neil, always like to see our ex players doing well and I think he might do a great job for you.

I remembered listening to this interview with him from a few years back while he was coaching in America around the time of Covid. He's very grounded and I think he will seize this opportunity with both hands. He's also a big fan of Mick McCarthy!

Link below in case some of you find it of interest.

Correct. He kneed in a Jay McEverly cross from the left hand side at the Ponty End. Then in celebration Adam Hammill put a stray fans cap on his head before throwing it back im the East Stand.

Then within a minute Hammill scored againfrom a run from his own half to make it 5-1 and i lost my **** big time. I remember that game like it was yesterday.

He was shocking that day. We absolutely hammered him.
