Good read that and again .....illustrates someone who seems to be down to earth, ready to learn and thoroughly motivated.
    looks like a good appointment.

I remember the game but not the goals.

One of my favourite ever moments I used it in a works event at YW at bell end rd. With a majority being leeds fans.
Q to the floor. What's the best thing to happen whilst you've been at YW.
Boring gets telling em they did this and that working all the hrs god sent to get water back online trying to impress everyone.
Yours Truly said. Barnsley 5 leeds 2.
Place erupted lol. My manager smoke coming out of his ears. The nob. One of the Directors pi55ing his sen laughing.

Agreed @55&counting it'll be interesting to have someone that wanted to be a coach from the off. I think he'll do a steady job and that's what we need. Let the fans get excited and the coaches and players remain calm!

The negativity around this appointment on here and especially fb and Twitter is absolutely ridiculous.

We’ve appointed a man who has hundreds of games as a player at this level and the next one up in this country, who has played under some excellent managers here and for strong clubs, and so will have excellent contacts in the game; a bloke who broadened his horizons and ended his playing career abroad, then immediately made manager there and has had five pretty successful years as a head coach, who is now coming back to work in the domestic league setup in which he played most of his career.

Other than not having a few seasons at Cheltenham town, his record if anything makes his profile an even better fit than Duff’s was. He’s a clearly a leader, pretty plain speaking, a strong albeit fiery character, a proper boss that the younger faces will need.

He might be sh.it - but I think this is a pretty well researched and promising appointment. It might not work, no appointment would have guaranteed that - and I’m happier with him than I would have been for example with Darren Moore and particularly the fella at Derry City.

I think he’ll do ok. The amount of success will be dependent on player recruitment and retention of course.

Well done to Khaled, JAQ et al. I think this looks promising.

I saw official BFC on FB, it was largely positive, if a bit underwhelmed initially, same as here. Once reports started to filter through, that this lad might actually be a bit special, it cheered up noticeably. I vaguely remember Collins as a player, didn’t have a danny about his coaching career. I stopped taking football too seriously, yonks back & I’m certainly not going to become an abusive vein popper, like one particular member, (& I use that term deliberately..) was last night.
But it had been a week, when even some of the more sensible, respected lads were starting to lose the plot. For someone who doesn’t particularly give a fck, it was hilarious..:)

Some comments on other boards etc is quite frankly embarressing. The lengths some people go to undermine the club and board must be agenda driven .
In some peoples eyes every manager every player are slated before they've even put there kit on.Oh well such is life.

The more I read about the guy the more I think it’s quite a good appointment. The style in play won’t be massively different either

Should have left the Joking bit off on one of your previous posts mate. I would have. :):) Some posts go beyond the pale. bang out of order. And not fit for publication. Worthy of a ban imo.

Banning is summat we see as a last resort mate. We try to give people every chance, before pulling that trigger.

I get that Marc. If someone doesn't like someone at the football club fair enough, comment on it. But personal abuse of staff and players is a step too far imo. And at least should recieve a warning. I'm guessing you do that.

    My son says

''We could have the greatest manager and he could turn out to be brilliant or he could be s***. We could have the most unknown manager ever and he could be brilliant or he could be s***. ''

    I think he's right!

    I'm happy with the appointment.

if we stick to the maxim 'shoot the message not the messenger' we shouldn't go far wrong.
