Aren't all kids at top prem clubs touted as "stars". Makes lower league clubs think they're getting summat special.
Signing this lad would push the likes of Marsh, Dyer and Jalo down the pecking order, it’s a no from me. We need to focus on developing our own young players not pampered kids from the elite clubs.
Also with him being from Liverpool he will have to play in every game like the last player we loaned from them, no matter what form he's in. No ta.
He'll probably do nowt special at Oakwell and a few years down the line, when he's having a stellar career elsewhere, we'll say 'He played for Barnsley once!'
Good. We haven’t had a decent loan signing from a Prem side since Oli McBurnie and Harvey Barnes. Rest since then have either been sh!te or average.
In theory but there’s a fair chance a lad at liverpool has a fair amount of ability - a shrewd loan can inject quality we couldn’t otherwise afford. There’s a chance he might be an Ike Ugbo but there’s also a chance he could be a Tammy Abraham. Or an Adam Hammill if you prefer. There’s no point playing our own kids if they’re not good enough or not ready.
Stewart has only 1 professional appearance to his name, Marsh and Jalo both a have a few appearances in both league and cups as well as goals. They’re both a lot more ready to play than this kid.
Not against loans but I think we should be using it get a player that’s definitely ready for first team football. Not some unproven youth that’s only done it at youth football.
Similar time Ryan Kent wasn't too bad and from Liverpool, alot teams around us last season used the loans well and most of ours weren't too shabby.
