"But he's not trapped in the miserable relationship though, is he?

He's living it up with his brother in Turkey, whilst we presumably still foot the bill, because nobody wants to take on his wage"

Correct. Which takes me back to my question of why do you sympathise with him? I genuinely do not understand what there is to be sympathetic about. Do you have sympathy that the poor sod is living it up with his brother in Turkey? Because it sounds alright to me

I didn't say he should, I said he has the option to cancel his contract and I have no sympathy if he is unhappy but does nothing to address that, just so he can continue to draw a wage that he demonstrably does not earn nor deserve.

As I say, we don't know what's going on behind closed doors. I probably projecting my own previous struggles with mental health onto him.

You mean apart from the small fact we do pay him.. The lad does have a bit of tallent, but displays a side of football I detest. Spoilt, spoon fed.. If things dont go his way, then he's going to sulk till he gets what he wants.. And now't to do with earthquakes, he was like it last year before he went back abroad.
This falls into the, why football is f'erked category.. In what other industry would employers have to put up with this 5'hit.. Should be able to give him 2 weeks notice and f'erk him off..

Yup. That’s football sadly. He’ll get paid regardless, so there’s no incentive.

I think if his wife and child were settled here, it might be a different story.

He’s a decent player on his day - but I think ever since his first child was born, he’s struggled. So i suspect there’s probably more to it, but I don’t think he helps himself.

We should see if Lierse want to reunite him with that other waster we signed at the same time.

In terms of Iseka, I would love it if the club made a stand. If he is dragging that much wage out of his employer but not prepared to honour his end by playing football then make him earn his wage somehow. Clean the seats, paint the concourses, cut the grass, clean the apprentices boots… earn your wages one way or another!!!

If he goes on loan, then the other club will cover a percentage of his wages. So it’s cheaper for us if he goes out on loan.

Iseka had his 30 minutes of fame against Sheff Ure, when he and Cole tore into them, and we almost pulled it back from 3 down.
But, can we really pick out many other games where he put the effort in like that, and looked a good player.

We shouldnt loan him out send a message, get your act together you'll get a move otherwise waste next 2 yrs of your short carerer in under 23s on bench if you cant be bothered, if he dont turn up breach of contract you dont get paid, styles went on loan he used it best he could to get a move, i hope he gets it he dont want to be here av no feelings for him, hope watford sign him he'll play lwb but let him go,i think it wa chris kamra when we played chelsea and said we'd nicknamed him bury baggio,i felt a little embarrassed, not but i dont rate him but never seen him run many games, ie redders higgy even brian howard.2m id take half that, great season when we got to play offs but i aint wishing him well, mads hope he plays in top league rest of his career.while your here show you care, conner knew he wa gonna villa but still put everything in, could av got injured against leeds.and what a s goodbye he gave us.

how does it make any sense though, paying him 350k a year to play in the 23s? doesn't it make more sense to get part of his wages paid by another club, if he isn't going to feature in the first team squad?

Styles and Iseka two great new signings for our league 1 campaign.
Not many teams in this league adding that level of quality to their squads.

I agree with you about Styles he would be a big boost to the squad but I am not sure what you are basing the level of quality Iseka brings , apart from a couple of decent cameo appearances in my eyes he has shown no quality at all ,however I have only seen him playing for us & maybe he has shown decent quality elsewhere in his career.

I hope Styles and Iseka play for us. Let's face it we're signing players from Sheff Utd reserves, Halifax and Hartlepool. Got to be better than them.

Not sure I agree. Looked like he didn’t want to be here at the start of last season he looked a very average player and doubt that’s changed now either at Oakwell. Needs to move once we have a deal that suits all parties.

It's got to make make more financial sense for us and him to try and get a good season out of him.
