Great night last night at Belle Vue with Trinity beating Wigan on the controversial golden point rule. Cas lost so we are only 2 pts behind them and I think there are 8 or 9 games left. The ground has a new almost completed stand and is to be a ground share with Wakefield AFC. Prospects of staying up have suddenly bloomed. Anybody go last night ?
No but reading that the Tigers have huge problems within the club. No idea what exactly is going wrong. Hopefully all can be sorted out for them.
I watched Wakey up at magic weekend, never seen such a poor rugby team in my life. For them to have won 1 never mind 3 matches since is a big surprise indeed.
It’s looking like relegation for either Cas or Trin, so as long as we finish above them that’ll do fine. There’s no way we’d want Cas to go out but if it’s a direct choice, there’s only one answer !
I was reading on one of their boards and a few have accepted the prospect of going down. Some saying players have given up and no interest in playing for the club. Great attitude from so called professionals.
Exactly what I was thinking. They couldn’t score against 11 men for a ten minute spell, while they only scored a consolation try against 12 men for the whole game. After that, I assumed that they would only win a game when it was too late and nobody cared.
If cas do go down it will be hard to get back up with the new proposals. Ground is DESPERATELY in need of updating and they have promised to get it done but to no avail. Be ironic IF and it's a big if if Featherstone take the place of one of our neighbours, although Huddersfield must be sweating.
It seems to have been a pattern for Wakey over the years …. lose five in a row and then win five etc. It would be no surprise to see them beat Huddersfield next week
I think both Cas and wakey could drag Huddersfield into the relegation battle. Be better for Fev if Hudders went down as be a better chance of not finishing bottom if we go up
You're right they've been very much all or nothing for a few years now. Really couldn't see where the wins or even try's would come from this season though. I think signing Fiffita, Gale and one or two others has given the spirits a big lift. Let's hope they can carry it on and stay up. On a side note why are they hardly ever on Sky? Only been on twice I think and one of those was magic weekend.
Went to see Wakefield AFCs first game last Saturday against Hallam FC- about 500+ fans there. Good turn out, could get a good following with some success on the pitch.
It's this season or never by look of it Andy with IMG making it worse rather then better for teams outside SL.
Yeah it’s encouraging for our City to have a decent side at long last. Over the years, I’ve watched Emley and Wakefield Emley ( or whatever ) but it finally looks like we may get a proper decent Wakey side. I will still support the Reds though as I’ve done since 76
Definitely, can you imagine football denying teams a place in Premier League . RL is only interested in Super League and nothing underneath that,it's dying a slow death.
