    Tell you what BM, we'll come back to this post at the close of the window.. to see how 'concerned' you are with 9 incomings at Pompey. Don't forget we are allowed 5 loans. We have 3 signigs already (arguably what standard they are, but they have been paraded as sigings) so come end of Aug ill bet we'll be up around the 9 mark ourselves. May even surpass the 9..

    Back up keeper to replace Isted,the Polish lad as a first team squad player and the lad from Ponte for the development team.
    I would say another first team centre half,another alternative striker and possibly a midfielder in the mould of Thomas and we're not far off ready to go.

    But those 3 or 4 need to be top notch ready to go signings, not non league punts. But yes wev had worse squads

    With regards to loans, it doesn't really make sense to fill all the slots close season. Surely better to wait until we've played a few games, by which time the manager can better identify the areas where he feels we need to strengthen.

    I’d like to see if we can get Jay Stansfield on loan from Fulham, looks like a decent player and was on loan at Exeter last season

    We had a manager in place when they signed. It is what it is. Difficult to recruit without one in place. But I'm pleased with the outcome instead of rushing to put anyone in place for the sake of it.

    Sure I read a few weeks back. Probably the Chron. It was said we may sign up to 10/11 players .
    Not out of the realms of possibility.

    We dont only recruit for the first team. But the of taking on of developing younger talent besides our own.

    I'd guess around 13 have already left.
    Seven were released from the academy (U24) + Odour
    Oulare packed off
    A few went back to parent clubs.
    Mads sold.
    I expect at least Styles to depart. Iseka ?

    Loans happen towards the end of the window, not early July.

    The slow start last year was because we had a brand new midfield & forwards to bed in, Cadden wasn't fit/Williams coming back from injury. The key this year is going to be getting the centre backs and goalkeeper on the same page as soon as possible, I reckon it'll be Collins, Kitching, Moon and one other.

    We said we had options for if he stays or goes after the play off final then it took us 2 months to act on them.

    We have, they've probably been in discussions with him, we are not going to receive Duff's resignation letter and then appoint someone the day after. With all the upheaval Collins is going to have, getting someone in within 2 weeks is pretty good.

    You can have as many options as you like. You still can't start the replacement process until after Duff has resigned.
