A reminder that in several cases The Sun, fine upstanding moral guardians that they were, paid 15 year old girls to pose topless so they could have a countdown and publish on their 16th birthday. IIRC owning a copy of that newspaper could now see you on the sex offenders register - and any copies where the girl was 16-17 is still a criminal offence.

Good points. Well put. Perhaps one criticism of the BBC is that they were a tad slow to investigate - not rigorous enough? However, as you say, some over-the-top/dead catty coverage.

I wouldn't be, I'd rake in the damages instead.

I suspect that the BBC were only told that a presenter was paying for images and the mum wanted it to stop. Nothing they could really do at that point as it's a 20 year old we are talking about. Then when the mum felt that nothing was being done to stop their kids crack habit she mentioned the 17 part the other day and the BBC then stepped up the investigation.

Reason I suspect that is that the BBC said in a statement that new information had come to light, they then suspended the presenter and informed the police. The fact that neither the mother, the sun, or the BBC reported it to the police prior to last week suggests that the 17 part wasn't mentioned until then.

If the photos started at any point after 00:01 on the teenagers 18th birthday, then they were totally legal - albeit possibly viewed as sordid.
If the photos started before their 18th birthday, then it would be illegal.

Presumably any investigation would now focus on when the first photos were sent.

Correct. Quite why this is being investigated by the BBC though is a mystery. It's either a criminal offence which the police should determine, or it's not and if it isn't then whether it's considered weird or sordid or whatever its nothing to do with the employer

I see no-one has mentioned The guy that spread the initial rumour.
Normal. Is he a fekkwit. I hope he gets taken to the cleaners. Tried deleting his original message but it was photo shot by his accused afore he deleted it.

Was mentioned on a programme this a.m. that posters can be found. irrespective of him saying "good luck with that one"

If it's a fake account Twitter should be held to account or if not, shut down.
People have lost their entire businesses and homes.
    When found guilty of libel.

And those falsely accused. Misery, caused by false accusations.

He’s just a horrible, nasty troll, who thrives on attention. You can see that by the amount of times he posts how many more followers or likes he’s had. Every response on Twitter just feeds it. It’s incredibly hard to do, but genuinely the very best way to handle pri(ks like this is just to completely ignore them. No matter how vile their opinions are.

He’s extremely easy to be found, he has posted his address previously, the companies he has worked for in the past and his wife and stepkid’s names and pictures.

Another thing this proves though, some BBB presenters get paid far too much

Without giving the name ( just answer yes) does anybody actually know who it is?

Possession is fine. Playing it is worthy of a life sentence for crimes against humanity...

You could argue that all tv and radio presenters are paid too much when you consider their value to society. None are worth more than a nurse, doctor, teacher, rail worker, care worker etc etc.

Sam Fox should not be on any music compilation.
