That means that a totally unneeded competition will lose £28m ????
We already had a 50 and 20 over competition along with the County game so why is it needed ?

 

I think you’ve misunderstood what Profit is. It’s cost them £38m to set it up for 5 years and they’ll have an income of £10m/year from it. Therefore over the 5 years they’ll have an overall profit of £12m

 

It says £39m PER year for the five year period doesn’t it ?

It will be another draw with the weather the way it is the next few days. But another good innings by Bean and five different bowlers picking up a wicket are positives.

 

I’ve noticed with his figures and write ups that Fisher is coming good steadily.
Before his bad injury, he was selected for the England squad and he’s still young so with his and Beans form things look good for the future if we don’t go bankrupt !!

Bright future for Yorkshire with their academy lads. I didn't realise Tom Craddock is the academy coach. He was brilliant for Honley when they dominated the Drakes Premiership for a decade and played some county Cricket as well.

Yorkshire have suffered more than most this season and, of course, England were cheated out of a win and a shot at the Ashes by the Manchester weather. Maybe it's time to start building new cricket stadiums equipped with a sliding roof. I know that sounds mad but they put one on the Millennium stadium and we played Swansea under it for that play off final. It was weird - like being in a giant five a side arena - but it worked because the torrential rain in Cardiff might just have waterlogged the pitch.

Instead of spending obscene amounts of money on football transfers this could be incorporated into football stadiums all over the country to ensure matches are never off. How that would work for cricket is another matter of course - the finances are not there. But surely we could at least start with the major venues, where test matches are due to be played over the coming years. The ones in Durham and Hampshire for example - should have been built with a roof on. I know the cricket purists would shout NOOOO we can't do that, but SOMETHING has to be done. Look at the Second Division with a team second from top having drawn almost every game. What kind of a competition is that?

Spectators will just stop going to these games if this goes on, and global warming suggests that it will. Maybe this summer has seen freak rainfall but who's to say we won't get it every year from now on, with blistering heat in the Spring and Autumn, and 20 degrees at Christmas. The world is going mad. Sport needs to react to it

 

Any ideas why they are still batting at tea on day three? 550+ in front? Do they not want to win the game?
