    Do you know what this smells like to me.? Somebody’s bright young kid, has an expensive digital camera & needs a job. Somebody else has to make space.
    I’ve seen it all before. My last 6 months at V&A was spent training post grad interns to do my job. That sucked. Coincidentally, one of them was the daughter of a major trustee. Guess who got my job?
    My position suddenly re-appeared from the ether. Having been axed due to operational budget cuts. & if I had anyone to blame, it should be Gordon Brown, who apparently instigated it, in the previous government.?
    I’m not bitter.. :confused:

    Absolutely top bloke is Stretch , new him & became friends with him back in my Royal Mail days , as well as being a top bloke he is blooming well good at his job , shocking decision by the club, I don"t know if it is penny pinching or what but to quote a popular statement " He"s one of our own " & if this is how we look after our own then the club should be ashamed , another west stand type own goal !!!

    To me it feels like all the GOOD work bringing us ALL ( well most) together last season is being shot to $---. We need to be all together more then ever now with yet more upheaval.

    Very poor decision with no apparent justification. Far from rebuilding the connection with the fanbase, they just keep on piling up one PR screwup after another.
    They just don't get us do they, despite all the weasel words. Theyre just as bad as Duff, full of hot air.
    This is one so-called "happy clapper" who gets less and less happy by the day. And Im still waiting for my bloody season ticket!

    I agree. Some people have to be seen to be doing things, change for change sake. Losing the sense of community and throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Keith's photos were first class, he was was reliable. What else do you need?

    Yep. trained my own replacement who I discovered was being paid 30% less than me and couldn't handle the role. I got shipped sideways but had the last laugh when I got paid off tax free and never looked back....lets hope if some bright young thing is appointed to the job in the coming months some kind person at Oakwell lets it slip...

    In October 2021 I stopped going to matches after 55 years, even though I had a season ticket. Since then I've agonised about my decision, and come under tremendous pressure from fellow supporters to come back.

    Decisions like this one help me to realise that I made the right decision. Another dieing ember in the former blazing inferno has gone out.

    The only thing I can think is £. Perhaps he is/was charging a lot more than the Club want to pay? No idea. We need to know though.

    I know, it sucks mate, glad it worked out well for you.
    I interviewed at the British Library when still at V&A. Archives. Got shortlisted to 3, but didn’t get it. Only 30k, but more than what I was on.
    Then I thought fck it & moved back north, to look after my Mam & dogs & watch more Barnsley matches. Interviewed & offered a job with South Yorkshire Police. Archives. Didn’t take it, decent money though. Too much computer data logging. When you’ve had Leonardo & Rembrandt drawings pass through your hands, that seemed dull as ****.
    I don’t want to presume that’s the case with Keith, but unless he’s been naughty, that’s poor form from the club, just as they were learning n’all.. :rolleyes:

    I can’t imagine he’s done owt naughty. I reckon he would have just gone quietly had that been the case. The Club need to explain themselves now.

    "Winning is Being Barnsley" transcends distinctions between fan and player, staff and sponsor, board and backroom. It is a unifying force that can be felt by anyone associated with the club.

    Well at least when a fan is 'Losing' their job they can still feeling that 'Winning' force, apparently.

    This pre season has been disaster after disaster for us fans, we are being put through the wringer mainly due to bad decisions from the board. If it’s a sign of things to come then this season is going to be rough.

    If not & we have a good season then this will be forgotten about.
