He was also out on loan to West Brom a couple of years ago. BFC should be monitoring to see if loan fees have been paid, which should be factored in to any sell on if and when he is sold
I can’t see anyone paying Everton more than they paid for him, so I don’t expect we’ll ever get anything further for Mason
Looks like Southampton want him on a permanent transfer. Can't see a mention of fee but says they have held talks with Everton over a deal. Also articles I've seen say holgate hasn't gone on Everton pre season but is on 72k a week.
https://tbrfootball.com/everton-have-held-discussions-over-offloading-complete-70k-a-week-player/ Yes must have a good agent.
He's played over 100 games for a Premier League club. If that doesn't make him worth way more than we got for him, something has gone seriously wrong.
Gave up looking. Hope it's a big fee as I know there's a sell on but Everton probably just want shut so won't be much.
Mason Holgate may not be top class but he is a very good experienced defender with bags of premier league experience & at the right age , I just do not get the negativity from our fans towards Mason but of course the usual suspects on the BBS always seem to have a pop at our ex players , I hope he gets a move which benefits his future & wish him all the best.
Why because people have a different opinion to you? No Negativity from me just think Everton are crazy or he has a really good agent if he on 72k a week. Like you say loads of premier league experience but at a age now where he needs to be playing more games as he only made 8 appearances last season.
No problem with people having a different opinion than me unlike yourself, I'm genuinely puzzled why ex players who go on to better themselves get so much negatively, I would love someone to explain & then I might understand. Lately, Woodrow,Styles & now Holgate
On the 3 players you mention Woodrow, I think it's of popular opinion that he wasn't great the last 18 months and didn't do great last season for his new club. Styles some disagree he would get in our center midfield as its one of the strongest points of our team. For me if he stays and fights for his place great, if we sell him and get 1.5 million or whatever, great. Holgate still only 26 played over a 100 games in the premier league now out of favour at Everton and looks like they want shut and on a massive wage. Needs to be playing regularly at 26.
Been a fringe player at Everton for long periods, how he's managed to get on 70k a week is a mystery, mind you he's better then Mcguire.
I'd be shocked if he goes for less than £5m reading the reports. Of how Everton expect a good profit on the reported £2m they paid. Southampton have paid £15m for a man city midfield player apparently. And the sell on clause may be substantial. Hope so.
Southampton have spent 50 million in 2 seasons on Man City academy players who have barely any minutes between them before joining. Bazunu, Lavia, Juan Larios & Edozie. They've now spent 15 million on another one of City's academy products in Shea Charles. No way will Everton settle for anything low, especially as they're now willing to sell Lavia for 50m & Ward-prowse for 45+mill
