@BFCStretch has captured and documented every BarnsleyFC moment worth capturing over the last 23 years. Truly an own goal of epic proportions by BFC
There could even be a reasonable argument for letting the guy go. Who knows? Probably not. Either way Khaled HAS to know by now that he works in a goldfish bowl. Every comment, action is scrutinised. Yet he never seems to learn how to get ahead of the curve. Some of the fan demand for constant flow of unnecessary information is ridiculous but when you keep rolling the ball into your own net re the optics of certain things when you should know better it just doesn't help.
The handling of Beth was class, you’d love an employer who supports you, helps raise funds to help you, keeps customers/staff up to date on your progress and offers you a role once your well again. Absolutely brilliant stuff. But this is the polar opposite, I’m sure the club is already aware of the response to this and hopefully common sense will prevail. He’s been employed for 23 years which means he’s both good at what he does and his service has always been considered value for money in the past, he hasn’t become overpriced or incapable overnight. The club should set an example by looking after all staff like a family imo, much in the same way as they treated Beth. It might mean we spend money less efficiently but it’s about doing the right thing, this town has a history of people losing jobs unfairly and as our towns club they should set the very best example of how to look after employees
At fans meetings it is allus pointed out. I once asked if posts were scrutinised afore put out. As most within the club would surely point out errors and see em as we read em. Poor show having to tell em time and again. And they openly say, it needs to improve.
Is it true the open day in the absence of any other news will have an unveiling of the new photographer.
Daft thing is. Kieth could put himself on the list at the agency. Seen that done many a time. Eg Ex employees used.
Bitterly disappointing news. The club has definitely buggered this up, in my opinion. All the best for the future, Stretch.
But why is it an own goal? I don't get this notion that because he's done 20 odds years the clubs should be obliged to keep him going. The club has decided to go in a different direction from next season and that's fair enough, they don't have to justify that to anyone. I think some of the comments on this thread calling out the club are highly embarrassing. Keith has done a fantastic job over a long time and has put out a real classy statement, he's obviously gutted, however it's time to move on.
I like Gordon, Magnificent accountant. Until the global crash & Tories coming back. Should have been PM much earlier & picked Blair out of baby Bush’s pocket.
It may well be but some of the comments aimed at the club on this thread are ridiculous. The club want to go in a different direction and don't have to justify that to anyone, let alone individuals on a forum demanding an explanation. Sounds like nobody has done anything wrong but the club want to do something different. As sad as it is for Keith given his outstanding service, life moves on. I've no issues with what the club have done.
