Remind me, when in the past have we been shafted by the EFL? And I don't mean a 3 match ban for mcgeehan
I’d imagine they can ban them from being a director of a club in the EFL but can’t see how they can make someone sell shares. In that scenario I’m guessing in theory the club could be banned from the league but in reality would be given time and the others go to court to force a sale(but not sure).
Don't let the facts get in the way of a major flounce for many members of this board. Flounce-tastic times. Iley Out. Get Rammell on.
They forced us to go all seater in Aug '94, and that was a disgraceful ruling. Especially when they let just about every other team in the same division carry on using their standing areas!!. And why was this, I don't know if a reasonable explanation was given. Ohh and having to go away to Plymouth on Boxing day in '90 as well.
According to the letter of the law at the time, forcing us to go all-seater was completely correct. The only teams with exemptions had been in the bottom two divisions within the previous two or three seasons IIRC. We hadn't.
Just remember - the club will have taken legal advice on this prior. So they know roughly what to expect, what the outcome will be, and what happens to Lee and Conway. Nobody is saying they were legally unfit owners, just not declared properly. I think it’s all part of a cunning long term plan though….
In that case, we were punished for NOT being down in the Third Division. From who I can remember.. Grimsby, Southend, Reading, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Tranmere, Port Vale, Swindon, and some others, all got to carry on standing.
Suspended points Deduction, an at most a fine, i think reading between the lines only an opinion all you einsteins, Barnsley F C av called in the EFL, against Chein an Conway aving found irregularities and put pressure on the two to sell their shares. Maybe just a thought, why would you call in the EFL against yourself.
Punishment will be having to play Conway and Chien for at least 60 minutes of every home game next season
Correct, and I believe that was our argument when we appealed the decision and asked for an extra season to implement the requirements.
And that following season, didn't we appeal against the awful penalty against us, at Oldham in the Fa cup. And they/the EFL told us to f* off and stop whingeing!!.
