Nice to have the balance of some good news and what could be better than this. It reminds us that, even if things are messing up in the boardroom, the playing staff, coaches, management and fans create their own ethos and this one shows some positivity. I would wager that the appointment of Collins and Stead does the same. I hope that the reality of the EFL decision will be fair and pass quickly into history, so we can see the likes of Luca excel for a few more seasons. COYR
Fantastic news, although it can't be true. We always sell our best players on the cheap & always during a fire sale..!
Delighted that he’s signed a new deal but I was told he’d signed his new contract at the back end of June. It seems like it’s been deliberately held back to be released on the same day as the bad news. I also wonder if he was aware of the impending charges when he signed his new deal.
Dont mean to sound a dik bud, but so what? Wouldn't trust a lot on here as folk swear by what they've heard and its turned out to be complete ballox. Perhaps they were finalising some details? Or turning down a bid.
Nothing half empty. I’ve deliberately stayed off the other thread where almost everyone’s been sticking the boot in about Stretch & Conway / Lee. Just think it’s funny & show how football clubs work (not just us) in manipulating the mood of fans. If they’d announced Connell’s extension weeks ago when he signed it then everyone would’ve forgot about it by now & the fans mood would be terrible. Instead the general feeling is it’s a bit **** that we’ve been charged by the FA but at least our best players staying.
Perhaps if football fans didn’t react so instinctively to bad news then football clubs wouldn’t feel the need to manage expectations. It’s the same with everything now, governments wait for a massive news story to bury bad news as do financial institutions and local authorities.
