We have yet to make one signing that improves the squad

Which supposedly for a team that’s aiming to get promoted it seems less and less likely by the day at the moment.

But we are now in a position where we will need alot more than one player to improve the squad

So no one knows the actual score, no one knows the teams, no one knows if either team even broke into a sweat. It could've been a friendly kick around between two sides akin to a playground 5 a side.

Absolutely irrelevant news. Which is why neither clubs site or fans (apart from nutters/bedwetters) have even acknowledged it happened.

Finished 9-1 mate and them teams further up were correct. Unfortunately. My bad for adding a goal. And Barnsley Chronicle have acknowledged

The "stronger" side that we started with had no semblance of a recognised defence. Absolutely no way we'll be starting the season with that lineup at the back, and probably not with that keeper either. Literally the only thing that I'm remotely worried about is the absence of Liam Kitching.

Doug is saying 9-1. Would be interestihg to know the HT scoreline (unlikely to find out) giveb that it appeared our strongest team was played in the opening 45 mins.

L2 here we come if Moon is going to be a first choice centre half.

Hmmm. Burton stayed up comfortably with him as their first choice centre half, despite the fact that the rest of their side is objectively far worse than our squad, even without any more additions.

I admire your optimism but sadly he isn't good enough....... Just strikes me as a final throw of the dice in trying to cash in on him, same as when Schopp was forced to play him

I’m hyper critical of the club at the moment but I think Moon could be decent this season in a back three. ******* horrendous in the Champ like.

I’m trying to get attention how **** the club is yet people still somehow defend what’s going on.

So everything I post is negative? That’s a lie. Sometimes it’s hard for people to accept negative aspects to items close their lives, and you’re one of them.

I don't expect him to be a regular next season, but if he is then it'll mean that he's progressed significantly since the Schopp mess. As for "a last throw of the dice trying to cash in on him", are you seriously suggesting that the manager has been told to play him to put him in the shop window?! Well, if that's the case, great, as other teams are only likely to sign him if he's playing well. But from what I understand there's no need to do that, as Burton would happily take him off our hands, thanks to the fact that he's extremely highly rated there.

And what is "going on"? So far, we've had our manager poached, not a lot we could have done about that, and sold a long-serving defender whose contract was ticking down to a Premier League club for decent money. We haven't signed many players yet, but I'm pretty sure the club is working on it. But it seems many people would be much happier if we'd already signed a load of bodies, just so they could see something being done.

Maybe stop doing it because you look a lovely person who wants Barnsley to fail.

It's the only reason I think he is involved, but maybe he has earned another crack at the whip after a decent season with Burton.

I totally agree regarding the signing players for the sake of it but we were the fourth best team in the league last year and I’d say eight biggest club, give or take. We are an attractive proposition yet we’ve signed two players, lost eight. Season starts in three weeks. We’ve got beat 9-1 today. As much as there’s time and I’ve never said there isn’t, it’s looking bad.
