    I’d normally agree but I suspect they’ll want to bat longer, establish a good lead and try to make it a three innings game. Weather isn’t set fair for a fourth innings chase.

    Problem being they’ll probably be bowled out with a deficit, never mind a good lead.

    Need to finish the Aussies off quick this morning then thrash 450 or so in little more than a day to have any chance of forcing a result.
    The poor weather forecast this weekend makes a draw look inevitable.

    Absolutely. Can't remember the last time I've left a county championship game at the scheduled time of 6pm, usually around 7 or beyond.
    All 96 overs have to be bowled.

    Well done England, shame we lost 20 mins there but they’d have taken that at the start of play. Get batting hopefully we can nudge past them by the end of play

    I’m predicting however 275 all out in about 60 overs, Aussies banging it in short and us is slogging to our hearts content.

    Be interesting to see if labuschange, head or smith get to bowl spin

    It's an old story now on how Duckett feels the need to hit every ball. He'd be a better player if he left more balls alone.

    Crawley leaving them alone outside off, Moeen ducking under the short stuff? Conventional batting?

    It’s almost like they’re playing in a test match.

    And still going at more than four an over doing it as well, with the quick scoring engine room watching as the ball goes nice and soft before they come in.

    Looking very promising so far.

    Cue the collapse…

    We're batting exceptionally well apart from Duckett who did his usual trick.

    What do we think we'll declare on at this rate? I think Stokes will aim for a 50 run lead maybe, declare and try to bowl them all put giving us something to chase Saturday and Sunday.
