Q2. Which esteemed talk-show-host-turned-radio-presenter cited The Best of The Beatles as his favourite Beatles album when asked what his favourite Beatles album was?
No... Eden Kane ( real name Clive Sarstedt) with ' Well I ask you' in 1960 and his brother Peter Sarstedt with 'Where do you go to my lovely' in 1969.
Me and Mr. C used to go to an excellent music quiz in London. It was excellent, cos it was tough. At risk of sounding conceited, generally, I’d expect us two to do well in a music quiz, but we didn’t win this one very often and didn’t come close most weeks. It was an achievement most weeks if you finished runner up. The place was usually filled with music journalists and musicians though. Last time I did the quiz there, albeit 15+ years ago, Bernard Butler was in the team on the next table. Noel Gallagher was in there one week. The guys that ran it and set the questions were musicians themselves. Mr C. knew them from his time as a pop star! But I enjoyed it much more than your usual music quiz, because it was a challenge and the questions were good. None of the “which year was…” or “how many number ones did…” kind of thing. Made me wonder whether there would be the appetite for a similar kind of thing in Barnsley, a music quiz where the questions aren’t just set by using the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles?
We'd have won the mount music quiz jackpot in 1984 if Mrs tonjy hadn't misheard and written Chickory pr1c k!!!
