Good player and a nice kid, more than deserves his move. In future now though I’d rather we didn’t develop players for other teams to reap the rewards. He was excellent during his loan spell but in the end it was pretty much pointless for us really.
It was more the fact that we probably didn't get much more for a player that had 2 seasons at championship level and was in the league 1 team of the season
If he'd been a Barnsley player we'd have sold him for some cheap undisclosed nonsense, certainly not 2 million.
It's frustrating that we couldn't keep him but he certainly made our team better and we were so close to promotion so in my opinion quality loans should always be part of our planning if we can get them.
I get what you’re saying. It’s just annoying that we’re now having to replace him which is already proving to be difficult, Burnley are set to make a decent fee on a player they’ve barely ever played and Coventry are set to get a top player we have most likely improved and we get zilch for it.
I totally get your point and understand the frustration that we can't afford him but there's no doubting that he was a brilliant loan signing for us and I'd love us to get a couple more that are just as effective next season.
From what I saw at Hull we look like we may have replaced him already so I am not sure about your "proving difficult" comment.
You’re basing that on one friendly game in pre season? Don’t get me wrong I’d love for that to be the case, but I’m not so sure a lad jumping up several leagues from Pontefract Collieries or an 18 year old lad from the youth sides is going to be at a similar level to Bobby Thomas and be a ready made replacement.
Fair play. Well like I said I hope what you say is true. Made my thoughts clear on here plenty of times that I’m an advocate for giving our young uns a chance. We’ve got a good group of players in our youth sides and some of them deserve to show what they can do in the first team, they still need experience around them though to help bring the best out of them.
Depends on what type of pie. Meyt and tatie. (In your case just tatie, ) Onions. Add mushy peas and gravy. mmmmmmm
They've just received 20 million for their striker - personally, I think they're going about it the right way instead of spunking it on big names with big wages bud Edit - although if they did pay a reported 8 million for Simms, that is mental
