Been in Manchester most of the day. Recording an interview with a chap called Tony Davidson (TJM records & studio) at Disorder Bar, a Joy Division themed bar in the Northern Quarter. Chilling tonight with a few glasses of wine a curry... Not DJing this weekend, but off to Tarn tomorrow to check on my Dad's house & have a bit of a walk down the Willow...

What's walking down the willow? Sounds a bit George Spicer.

Fields off Smithies Lane, including the old canal, Tinker's Pond & is now an SSI for wildlife. I'm sure George would be in his element...

Never heard it called that (or more likely I’ve forgotten). Does it include the Fleets?

We used to call that bit by the dike at Aldham bridge "the willow" ( well "willa" actually).

Just got back. Absolutely bonkers, but an okay couple of hours entertainment. I've seen plenty of worse family films.

It's pronounced willa, but spelt 'Willow", as in Willow Bank, one of the roads that leads down there, just above my folks old house, where I grew up. A bit like Dodworth, being Dod'erth...

Fleets are at the bottom. One of the ponds is the bottom of the Willow, the other one is the other side of Smithies Lane, nearer the Asda now and not the Willow in my book. Was the Old Mill site originally. Bottom of Old Miill Lane.

Decent game last neet, Church deserved their 3-0 win. Saw summat Ive never seen before, Briggers keeper attempting a sideways pass put a goal kick straight out for a Church corner.
Playing out from the back just isn't for everyone!
