    If that’s the defence that starts the season we are in trouble.

    A right wing back and 2 centre half’s required.

    we will be fine in midfield with or without styles and will be ok up front too

    I agree with styles I don't see how he gets in infront of kane,connell or Phillips. Could play wing back if Williams goes.

    Out of interest, you genuinely have no idea how good lopata or James are yet, none of us do. So how can you be so sure we'd be in trouble?

    It gets said every friendly. Friendlies are for fitness and exposure.

    Said it before (and he won’t be here anyway) but Styles walks into the team on the left of the three over Herbie Kane.

    I don’t mind Kane, he’s a good player at this level and assuming styles goes he’s in my first eleven, but he’s limited and easy to predict/telegraph.

    It would be interesting to see if he does start RWB if Williams goes mate. He won us over the first time at LWB. Last season he knew he was off and didn't refuse to play so I dont think there would be an issue or refusing this season, imo.

    Suppose to be at Oakwell with fans allowed to watched. Switched to behind closed doors but presumed it would still be here.

    I suspect our home pitch isn't ready to be played on yet and it's being kept quiet.

    If Styles did Stay. he'd be 1st on mi team sheet. In a decent side he'd be the outstanding player. Just my opinion

    fair point. However one has been playing non league, one released from a youth academy. Putting faith in untried and un tested players isn’t a great strategy imo.

    You have to back your own judgement. It isn't a problem for me when you know why he was non league. He looks decent and James looks cultured and calm.

    I appreciate it's only friendly games, but from what I've seen of Lopata so far, I'm fairly confident he's ready for league 1 football. He looks very confident and assured.

    All respected opinions but not sure how anyone looking at our current defenders on our books can play young lads who have no experience at this level ahead of Cundy. Not saying he is a superstar but at this point in time how doesn't he get in our back 3.

    I reckon there's definitely promise in Lopata and James and Lopata could be playing regularly this season. I still think we need an experienced, quality CD in on loan this season and I really hope that happens.

    They don't want fans at Oakwell until theyve finished installing the new 50 metre screen / scoreboard and the 85 inch flat screens and new food and drink outlets in the stand concourses. Also they've not quite finished installing all the heated seats with massage facility in the home supporters stands. They don't want to spoil the surprise so we'll have to wait until August to experience it all including all the marquee signings will be making in the next 2 weeks. :D:D:D:D

    HT 0-0 Sounds like their kids are carving through our defence at will but Roberts is having a good game and has pulled off a couple of great saves. We've had one long range Phillips effort. Norwood for Shaw is the only change at HT.
