Swansea Twitter awash with 'Duff out' posts and Long-Haul himself getting the titty-lip on about the state of his squad and players "not good enough" for the Championship.

as a proud Valley-boi (Merthyr Tydfil) can I point out that Swansea and surrounds are not part of the Welsh Valleys.

 

I don’t see how he can be classed as that when he didn’t achieve anything at league one level.

 

But not quite as weird as your post! Where does that say I hate him? I liked him. He was a great manager for us. Took us incredibly close to promotion at the first attempt. Liked his football and his attitude to the game. What I didn't like was when it was clear that he was, at heart, a complete bull$hitter.

It sounds to me that Duff is bluffing. So he looks good if they do ok & I told you so, if they don’t.

He almost got us to the championship with a club heading for oblivion according to some.

Didn’t achieve anything? If you don’t think 86 points with the team he inherited and the doldrums we sat in isn’t an achievement, then what is?

The fact we lost the playoff final with the last kick (well header), in a game where every key decision and bit of luck went against us, and where one of our best players missed an absolute sitter, in no way reduces what he achieved.

He left, first opportunity and to a club in no position really to kick on, and showed himself up to be a bit of a liar in terms of his statements about loyalty. I was less than impressed with that. Said as much.

But in terms of his ability as a manager I’d say he’s the best we’ve had for quite a while. Up there with Ismael, and even he sort of got found out towards the end. Duff set his team up against a Bolton side that were apparently resurgent and we never looked like not going through, and gave a fantastic performance with ten men at Wembley as well.

Stendel had a much better side, in most positions, and he got five more points. Five. How many of last years team would get into the 18/19 team? Connell, Cadden probably. Struggling after that. Mads for Lindsay maybe but him and Pinnock were excellent that year. Last seasons team switched off for the the last two to three league fixtures as well.

Duff showed himself up to be a bit of a **** in my eyes. Yeah he probably knew we had the disciplinary case to come and wasn’t certain about who we’d sign etc - but he went back on what he’d said a year before.

None of that means he didn’t do a fantastic job last season, and in my eyes overachieved in terms of results and points tally.

 

Turn of phrase. Had a nice holiday in Tenby once, but I've no bloody idea about South Wales

Duff did well. He was an excellent acquisition. Didn't we beat off Blackpool interest to get him?
Can't fault how he handled the team but he did have a very decent set of players at his disposal. The predictable best manager since, club legend status comments being conferred on him didn’t sit well with me though and, in the end, he chucked us aside like an old *** packet. I won't shed any tears if Swansea struggle.

 

Was gutted when Wilson went but he turned out more like agent Wilson did Jack all after promotion in 96 but dined out on it.

As someone who lived many years in the Valleys main run off , Bridgend, I concur.
Swansea isnt the valleys
