Sounds good, in theory. Let’s see how they enforce it all

No, but we now might only get yellows when we give them away!

We’ll be at Oakwell until 5:15 most weeks by the sounds of it. We always seem to kick off late anyway so if we’re having eight to ten minutes a half added time like the world cups have had then that seems to be the likely outcome.

No complaints as such though, as long as it’s consistent

Consistency is the key word here. ALL officials have to interpret this the same way. When a player stands in front of a ball to prevent a quick free kick it’s a yellow EVERY TIME. Will soon stop the nonsense

You’ll be there longer than that if you’re in the car park :D

I'd just like to see them adopt basic competence for a start.

As for the changes, they need to ensure the attempts to speed up the game (e.g. players being treated off the pitch) are carried out alongside the new calculation of added time. I suspect we'll get loads of time added without any noticeable change in the pace of on-field proceedings. Standard added time will be around 6 minutes now, at a guess, with several instances of double figures being seen during the season.

When players realise there are consequences to their timewasting, then hopefully it will stop them doing it.

I wonder if it all will be implimented in the same way as intimidating the ref has?

Nail on head, the match officials have to treat every player/team the same, anything short of that is cheating. Obviously I’m not talking about genuine mistakes, just be consistent.

How about starting with getting the basic decision right.

I think biggest consequence of time wasting is 96th minute equalisers.

Mentioned above about consistencies and that is bang on.

We’re going to get all sorts this season now. Some refs adding the standard 3/4 minutes and others adding 9 on for seemingly not much. Can’t wait!

It's to give the car park an extra 20 minutes to clear after the end of normal time.

I'd actually go further with the added time. double the amount of added time, for time wasting, i.e. if a team waste a minute, add two on.

Still allow the goalie to drop to the ground and remove shin pads for physio treatment taking the sting out of the game when necessary.
