Fair enough. TBH I was using it as an easy example of its not as straight forward as being binary towards just Male or Female.
Read again. Sorry, interpreted by Jamdrop same way as I read it. It just shows how words can be misinterpreted. As others have done the same.
It's a nonsensical statement really, alot of hot air and very little substance. We'l see if all transfer funds are reinvested into the squad and whether the squad can go one better than last season, as it stands that is a strange thing to say considering we have replaced leading players with non league hopefuls. Also good to hear that they appreciate Keith is still getting paid to promote their club whilst not having to pay a penny anymore.
I'm probably bang in the middle of those 2 groups. The statement is essentially what we have been told over and over again for years. Little progress has been made since Cryne took control of the club to now. I'm open to seeing if things improve, time will tell.
Thinking the same. No need to communicate anything, we're a strange needy bunch and absolutely embarrassing on twitter. My guess at the big news is new lease and plans for a new West Stand, some funding from the council.
The women's team has its own youth setup, right down to under 7s. So all the daughters and granddaughters who attend mens matches now have the same opportunties as their brothers to actually join the club as would-be players. How can anybody see owt wrong with that?
All those bairning about the women's team will be first in the queue for tickets if they ever get to a major final.
I have just read it on the official site. I totally understand that some things cannot be discussed for business, personal or legal reasons, and I'm fine with that. I am fine with what they have shared, and although there are obviously outstanding issues, I think we are in good hands with the NEW Board. I'll be there for four or five games in October, and I can't wait. COYR!
So basically it's a reactive post miles too late to address a number of things that they should have addressed at the time. They couldn't thank stretch a few weeks ago but after supporters kick off big time they reluctantly have done so for example. Sick of them always being shocked and apologising after the effect. Just do better and treat people better first time round. Treat people like **** and they'll be pissed off then you have to do a grovelling article in the newspaper. The fact that this is the public relations skills of the people running our club worries me greatly. I expect in a few weeks they'll be reactively trying to sweet-talk the fans in a pseudo apology for the pr disaster that was the passive aggressive statement put out about the carpark. Why? Because they never learn.
I don’t mind the statement it says what you would hope and reads well. couple of things I don’t get. 1.) why are people quibbling (not necessarily on here) the reinvestment of transfer funds into the club. We don’t make a profit even with those funds so aren’t they just doing what they say which is putting it back into the club and then underwriting the difference? which should be applauded. 2.) the concerns some people have (like the point before not necessarily on here) that somehow there would be hypothetical profit from the men’s team being funnelled to the womans team. Surely we have to make a profit as a men’s team before that would happen? Also if one or all board members want to put some money into a womans team as a labour of love or whatever then surely that’s a good thing and further helps to build our reputation?
I think the board are trying their best for the club in an extremely tough situation. The previous board destroyed the balance sheet leaving the current members to pick up the pieces and put in their own cash to keep the club above water. What we are seeing now is the reset of the club’s finances, buying from much lower down the league pyramid, lower fees and lower wages. The club cannot continue with a £10m payroll when total revenue will be circa £8m. Unless there is to be further funding from the ownership group. I fully understand that but…there is not a single point in that statement which is news, lots of rhetoric but nothing new. We go again.
There is nothing new in it but they have reiterated some things and confirmed some things (like why they don’t comment on some things etc). Unfortunately in the world we live in people only see and remember what they want to. You can see that in some of the comments on this thread. Last comment not aimed at you BTW.
You did that on purpose didn't you! Wrote a perfectly sensible post then sullied it with football speak right at the end. hashtag another three point opportunity
