    I'm not 100% on what the ruling is with phases of play etc (and I'm not convinced the ref, or the VAR's do either), but if Bronze is given offside there for interfering with play, then that's an absolute farce of a decision. She's made no attempt to play the ball, which goes nowhere near her, and surely then by the next phase of play, with the ball going backwards, she's onside? Or is it deemed the same phase of play, and when the original cross came in, she was offside and therefore is still offside until the phase ends? I don't understand the ruling to be honest in order to be critical.

    Is it because it came off of Hemp and if it had come off a China player then the offside wouldn’t have counted? Basically, it doesn’t matter if Bronze is offside if the opposition gets the ball but if anyone on the offside player’s team touches it then the original offside stands?

    You could see that wasn’t an intentional handball by the way she stuck her chest out to clear it. She was never using her arms.
