Welcome the signing if true, but not really the more experienced CB to replace Mads if this is his replacement. Unless someone else is also in the pipeline.
It’s hard to judge his experience, we won’t really know until he plays. He’s 23 so not that young, 99 career app, 30odd of those in the French second tier. Captained his team. He’s got more experience than most for someone his age, but that could mean bugger all over here. I think a Tom Edwards/Bobby Thomas type half season loan along side this lad and Lapata would really help, gives them time to settle in and gain experience gradually rather than been thrown in the deep end, also gives Cundy time to come back, who might not be a starter but it’s another body with L1 and Championship experience. We do seem to have a lot of defenders on the books though, with Cundy and at some point Mcarthy coming back.
Has it been said what the injury is with Cundy because I think he could have a big season for us playing in the centre of the three. No idea about this lad no doubt not the finished article but neither was Mads when he first arrived and patience was rewarded.
If you have faith in Cundy you’ve more faith than me,never fit, very slow, decent header of the ball but that’s it.
I think he was never suited to right of the three as you say not mobile enough and never going to dislodge Mads in the centre. The fitness thing is the big question needs a run of games if he does I think he could be the surprise big player for us this season but time will tell.
I hope your right and he does need a decent run of games to show what he can do but in his few appearances last season I thought he looked very jittery and seemed to unsettle our whole defence.
Apparently signed today…. Some guy on Facebook (taxi driver) says he picked the players parents up from the the club and dropped them at the station this aft , they were heading back to Paris
We paid for a cab all the way from Oakwell to Barnsley train station and said “off you go back to Paris”? That’ll have made a good impression.
I wonder if he took them via Cundy Cross, New Lodge, Mapp and Darton; with them not knowing the area.
