I disagree. It’s unavoidable..Mads played it perfectly for me, by making me yawn & almost physically vomit, during his pre longed exit video. I love him even more for that. Good sense of humour, the Danes..
I’ve generally accepted that nowadays (although Luca will be a tough loss to take) when I understand the transfer. For example, with Mads everyone knew it was coming and understood. With Norwood I don’t get it at all.
Can't imagine my life if I hadn't got emotionally attached to the likes of King Ronnie and Redders....
I kind of disagree, respectfully. I support Barnsley, not the owners, not any individual player. It is always more than that for me. Barnsley Football Club, apart from my family and my friends, is the biggest thing in my life, no player or owner can ever take that away from me. There will be another James Norwood, just like there was another Sam Winnall, another Conor Hourihane, another Bruce Dyer. There will never be another Barnsley Football Club. The club runs through my veins.
Exactly. There will but if you don't have any attachment to players/ managers then you may as well watch anything.
There is an attachment. To the town of Barnsley. As long as there are 11 people out there wearing the Barnsley Football Club badge, they have my support.
Yes, that goes without saying. But obviously everyone has favourite players within that team don't they?
Why don’t you get it if he can get a 3 year deal at 32, this is someone who has forever playe dlower leagues and will always have been fighting for a contract year in year out mate
Exactly this... there is practically nothing to be attached to anymore ... I see others mention the badge but to me that is too idealistic. A club has to be about the people... the manager and the players who we all pay to see on a Saturday afternoon. There has to be some sort of continuity to make it all worthwhile and we have been lacking continuity for a long time now.
I guess so but there’s not many on here/social media that are happy with this. He had a contract here so if he backs himself, he could get another one with us? And if he does well and we still don’t offer a contract, he’d have his fair share of teams eyeing him up anyway. I get his stability in the contract I suppose, it’s more us than I don’t get it for. Playing him in all those pre-season games, even Saturday when we’ll have definitely known he was off, to then sell him 2 days before season starts. Just seems massively strange to me.
Don’t get me wrong I would prefer him to stay but let’s be fair if he has landed himself a good deal/contract then who can blame him for looking for security at his age, he could get injured next week or ought....it’s not all wine and roses in lower league football.....Norwood was out of work when Ipswich foooocked him off after a good year at Tranmere, and no doubt we would have done the same if he hadn’t done well in second half of last season
Away at Huddersfield. 23 game unbeaten run had ended. Waved off the the team bus. Norman, Ronnie & other lads checked we were getting home ok. No Dads, just young uns.. we were alreight..
