Haha so we should have said no james your staying here another year then we will bin you off. Bet he would have loved that.
iWorry is that a result might paper over the cracks and we think we're ok in the striker department. There's ways of putting it!
I could understand it if the new coach hadn’t picked him in pre season, but he has and he’s looked our best option. This is possibly our best striker agreeing to go down two leagues. This isn’t the move to the wealthy Wrexham but Oldham who do not have the proverbial to pee in. As has been said many times, something ain’t right.
I've been trying to get my head around quantum physics for some years. Quarks, the Higgs boson, etc. Schrödinger's Cat could not tell me if it was there, or not, but was perplexed by James Norwood's transfer. He / she was in the Aldi at Barugh Green, speaking from a freezer cabinet that I could not open for some reason.
When Conor Chaplin left to go to Ipswich, he said: “My relationship with Barnsley and their fans was good. It’s an unbelievable one-town club. I just felt the fans were let down a lot of the time by the board and hierarchy. “It’s a buying and selling club. They don’t have a lot of ambition to be winning football games, challenging and bettering themselves. “But that is where I’ve landed now and this club is incredible for that and one of the best in the EFL for ambition and wanting to be better.” I've not seen anything that makes me think he's wrong, even with the new board.
We're comparing James Norwood with Harry Kane? Norwood was OK. His performance at Wembley was more than OK and a great memory for him to leave us on. But I was disappointed we were starting the season with him being potentially one of our main strikers. Now we're not. I don't think that's a bad thing if we sign a better replacement. There are literally dozens of strikers out there within our budget who are better than Norwood. If we get one then this won't matter and people will barely remember him. If we don't then yes, this is a bad move. But of all the players leaving us over the years to get upset about, Norwood doesn't make the top 100.
No, I'm saying other clubs keep their players. He's just one that popped into my mind because all the press and pundits were desperate for him to go to Man utd.
As things stand right now I honestly can't understand how this is a good decision. Maybe it will make mores sense in a couple of weeks but we've got at least one striker on the books who can't lace Norwood's boots.
