I coming tomorrow with the eldest (15, boy) and youngest (8, girl); and my Mrs, having looked at the weather forecast, has asked if the little one would be allowed to take an umbrella in given it’s forecast to continuously piss down.

I’ve looked for ground regs for Oakwell and can’t find owt, I can’t honestly remember ever seeing anyone with a Brolly and I suppose they’d daftly view it as a potential weapon so it’d be a no - but does anyone actually know? Or know where I could find out?

Spend tonight watching Singing In The Rain with your young un, let her quickly learn the dance moves, if the stewards stop her quickly burst in to song while she tap dances her way past them, problem solved, you’re welcome

Umbrellas at football.. always reminds me of those downpours in serie A in the 90s on open terraces. It would be unusual not to have an umbrella. But sorry Troff, i don't know the answer to your question.

At Oakwell we used to wear those ponchos in the prem, Leeds springs to mind. I sat on row B of East Stand lower then.

I’ve also never seen one at Oakwell or any matches before. As far as I can remember anyway, it’s not really something I’d pay attention to.

No idea what the ruling is but I’d imagine if someone whipped a brolly out in front of me, I wouldn’t be able to see a great deal apart from said brolly.

What’s up with a big coat? No to umbrellas, even for little ones, sorry. Actually, especially for little ones, she’s not going to hold it up straight, continually, for nearly two hours, is she? And the water will drop off the sides onto everyone around her.

Ok, I’ve put too much thought into this post!

If everyone lined up their umbrella's in tandem they could channel the rain water into a torrent for hydro electric power. Enough could be created to power the floodlights.

You’re a genius! I was just going to suggest that they get their seats moved for this match. Absolute rookie error not getting seats under the roof with two kids.

No Russell is a force of nature. Edit realised you were on about the player Russell. Not the fan.

Only person I've seen with an umbrella at a football match was Steve MacLaren. The wally with the brolly.
