Curious to see what everyone sees as the best 11 we have available to us once we get everyone back (providing no one leaves). Once we have everyone back from suspension and injury we will have some real depth across the whole pitch really aside from the odd position. Collins will have some tough calls to make for sure. For me I'd probably go: Roberts Williams Lopata Kitching O'Keefe Kane Connell Cadden Styles Watters Cole Bench: Killip McCarthy Cotter Shaw Dallas Phillips Russell Going to be some good players who don't even make the bench some weeks. Wonder if some of those leave on loan?
I'm pretty sure about 4 positions: Williams at right centre half, Kitching at left centre half, Cadden left wing back, and, after how sharp he looked on Saturday, Cole up front. After that... Roberts in goal, I think, but I've never seen Killip Probably Lopata in the middle of the back three, but I haven't seen de Gevigney O'Keeffe's anticipation to latch on to the Vale through ball, and then provide the perfect cross for Cole, was superb, but then Cotter Tommy Topped him by putting in two exquisite crosses for two more goals. And I've not seen Lofthouse. So I'm spoilt for choice at right wing back. God knows how to choose three from Connell, Kane, Phillips and Styles. I don't want to leave any of them out. And that's before even considering Russell, who scored on Saturday, Benson and Wolfe. Up front I'd likely go with Watters to partner Cole, but he didn't score on Saturday and Dallas did. Shaw looked good too. And I've made no mention of McCarthy, Cundy and a whole crop of youngsters chomping at the bit. Apparently we're in a right state after a disastrous close season, but even if I picked a starting 15 I'd be leaving out some quality players who would walk into most other teams in the division.
Ah, I see what I've done there. But can do if you can sort me an invite. I've to go to the Sheffield Junior Football League meeting tomorrow at the bloody Metrodome so will not only miss the match but will also have to try and get parked and then out again.
This is the issue. Some decent players will have to miss out. I don't know anything about the new lad so hard to place him until we've had a chance to see him in action.
I'd agree but where does he fit when you have Styles, Connell, Kane and even Russell to pick from. I do still think styles will leave before the end of the window which then instantly puts Phillips back in.
I don't think Collins will know his best 11 until about 10 games in, hard to say adam Phillips isn't a starting midfielder with the amount of goals and assists he contributed last season but I suppose that's a good luxury to have. Upfront I think on Saturdays show dallas should partner Cole for Bristol away and see how that goes, but maybe watters just needs a run of games. Both Shaw and dallas looked good on Saturday and will be pushing for starts and again it's good to have that competition for places. I'm sure Collins will have a headache when Phillips and connell are back.
I think Watters has alot of pressure on his shoulders, could do with a run in the side but when there's other strikers waiting in the wings, he needs to score to keep his place. I would start Watters and Dallas tommorow
