    Not necessarily mate. The pre tournament favourites are out and more of a level playing field. But losing James could be a huge loss.

    I find it really interesting how people are treating it as just a minor oopsy. Almost like it's less serious because it's a woman and certainly because she's English

    England will still be favourites, but Sweden look good. Great from set pieces & eventually dumped out the world champions.. :)

    She’s been punished within the laws of the game.
    She serves a suspension in the biggest tournament of her life.
    That’s all that is needed.
    I just don’t want to see a young player hounded in the same way Beckham was. No one is saying what she did was ok - it’s just she’s been punished. Move on.

    You’ve brought gender into it. Nothing to do with that. Beckham suffered unforgivable dogs abuse for his equivalent challenge. Do we want her to suffer the same so we can “level it up”?!

    I agree. it was a major indiscretion that will be covered up by our winning the penalty shootout.

    But that's it.

    Idiotic reaction by player. Team mates and coach factor it in. Available for next game after ban. In my opinion half the time said player is ploughing her own furrow anyway. One of those **** or bust players. Today you got man marked and got ****.

    Nothing to do with levelling up but everything to do with consistency and treating everyone the same. A thug is a thug. I've criticised Barnsley players for it, England players, opposition players and I'll do the same with an England women's player. She's lost her head and acted aggressively twice in two games. It paints a bad picture

    Well, I’m not comfortable labelling that particular person as a “thug”. I’m also not comfortable with the word “assault” based on what I saw.

    I see a footballer making a petulant retaliation in a way many players have before. She’s correctly punished.

    She’s hardly worthy of a label you’d give to Joey Barton.

    I seem to remember that you were the dude who was apoplectic at least ten times over about how season ticket holders couldn't possibly be able to buy more than 6 tickets for the play off.

    Because there'd be nothing left for anyone else.

    Ended up no sells.

    Had England gone out then the coverage towards Lauren James would have been highlighted even more.

    Fortunately the lionesses dug in and are through. Someone else steps in to replace her. I am confident of England being Colombia in the quarters.
